It's called an opinion, everyone is entitled to an opinion, obviously just because a few people on here disagree with your opinion you feel the need to make a big thing out of it.
HOW SAD
As for confrontational language, now lets see how many different parties are there, Labour, Conservative, Liberal etc etc, these all differ about subjects, so it's far from
confrontational just a difference of opinion. you should really watch BBC Parliament, and then you can see for yourself;)0 -
You are correct, MP's are not claiming benefits, and therefore they can do as they wish with their money. Furthermore, whether we agree with their allowable expenses or not (I am lucky enough to have an MP who does not abuse their generous allowances, so it is not so relevant to me), the accounts of MP's are publicly available should we choose to look at them, and therefore they are not hiding any income or outgoings.
Perhaps you should take a look at the other side of the coin, i'm certainly not being confrontational merely giving you the bigger picture.

I know how many people I have helped, you need to check that before you continue with your lies. I have not bullied anyone or been rude to genuine posters.0 -

I am more than capable of seeing the 'other side of the coin'. However, again you are reading something into my post that just isn't there!Gone ... or have I?0 -
dmg24 i do understand what your saying, if someone has acquired money that exceeds the savings thresh hold then they should be honest and declare it, if this country was run fairly i would agree.
Don't get me wrong if someone was working and claiming benefits that they ain't entitled to, and then they get caught well that's their fault, don't come crying on my shoulders.
Northern Rock is a prime example, it has cost the Tax Payer an average of £800 each, now why should my tax money pay for it ???, the banks are quick enough to take money from those who are struggling in the first place, but when the banks struggle those hard working poor people have to pay out again through their taxes.
The decision was made by this Government to use the tax payers money, will i see any benefit from it i think not, and how much money has been used in a pointless war, millions, and has it made my future more secure i think not.
Before stating to people that they should declare straight away any changes regarding a lottery win, perhaps this government who run the DWP and also represent all of us, should also be honest with us, after all over the last few months their has certainly been loads of articles about corruption amongst themselves.0 -
Now this depends how much they won, if they say win small amounts up to a couple of grand i dont see any problem with them spending it, paying of debts or buying something they really want, i dont see how they should be made to report it.
But *if* however it was a very large sum that was life changing and took them over the thresholds then yes they should report it and stop claiming benefits for the periods it last.
I don't advocate people defrauding the system and i am agaisnt fraudulent claims just as much as anyone, but i don't have a problem with someone having a win within reason.
So everybody here who is on means-tested benefits and won say 2grand in cash would turn up at the benefits office and say " hey i won 2 grand this week i don't need my benefit this month" I really don't think so how ever martyer they may come across.
I too was talking about a large sum that took them way over the threshold.
I agree with you that if they are under the £6000 threshold there is no need for the DSS to know until the normal review and of course in this situation they should continue to keep their benefits.
Those are the rules anyway. Of course they should have what they are entitled to. But some people here are condoning having by fraud money that they are NOT entitled to.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

You are going completely off topic here (although I know you did not start this distraction from the thread). What MP's may claim as expenses has absolutely nothing to do with benefit claimants declaring capital above the allowed levels.
In response to the highlighted point, even if members of gvt are doing something wrong, does that make it ok for other people? No, it doesn't. If you (generally, not you in particular) think that it is ok to break the law just because someone else may be doing it, then that just makes you as bad as the other criminal.Gone ... or have I?0 -

LMFAO
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
In that case those Governments members who are doing things wrong, should be hoarded straight away in front of magistrates and given custodial sentences TO SET AN EXAMPLE TO EVERYONE, not covered up behind closed doors until the media get hold of it.
As for highlighting things (child benefit disks missing) not only did they put at risk many thousands of parents to prospective fraudsters, they followed up with a standard letter to everyone to be aware and check your accounts.
In this letter it contained the claimee's N.I. NUMBER AND ALSO THEIR CHILD BENEFIT REFERENCE NUMBER. now if that ain't advertising potential fraud i don't know what is.
YOUR WORDS
If you (generally, not you in particular) think that it is ok to break the law just because someone else may be doing it, then that just makes you as bad as the other criminal
And when those others who have broke the law, are the same people who pass new laws, what chance does the normal person have

smf, you're taking all this crime and corruption very seriously. Chill out!
As I said, what members of the gvt do or do not do has nothing to do with the topic in question. If you want to discuss that, maybe you should start a new thread in Discussion Time?Gone ... or have I?0 -

( That's a bit odd coming from someone who states that you must declare all income and savings )

( No of course it has nothing to do with them, now who is it that runs the DWP ):rotfl:0
