Come on guys which one of you is selling them on ebay...own up:rotfl:
Can you imagine the hassle in postiing a lightbulb, they are so delicate.
I broke one once when i tried to put it up, and there were a few broken ones at Tesco also. i am sure i was reading somewhhere that they contain mercury and you should evacuate the room for a few hours:eek: .
I am happy with the 2 lightbulbs are manged to get

Yep, I read that somewhere too, apparently you can't just chuck them away when they run out because they contain mercury, you have to have them disposed of, not sure how??
If at first you don't succeed ........ ;) Alternative autism therapies should be free!!

Not sure if this post will work but I thought I would check Tesco on-line and found all the 1p low energy lamps, I've pasted the basket contents below to provide stock number etc but I'm not sure how well it will appear. But it looks like you can throw a few in with your on-line shopping,

Navigate to House and Pet, then electrical and photography, then light bulbs and finally cfl and they're all listed

    Good luck

  • at the above post!! If people are able to order them on Tesco.com for delivery from stores then 1) I doubt they will get them and probably be substituted for a £2.34 version and 2) It is going to totally mess up our in store availability when we have to offsale these due to having no stock (Stores get greatly challenged on this:rolleyes: )

I thought that Tesco would always charge you the cost in store on the day the order is picked by them, not the time of placing the order.

Tesco Brighouse, West Yorkshire had hundreds of these on the lightbulb shelves at 4pm yesterday. All priced at 1p. No interest at all from the locals. They'd been that price since Thursday. Restricted to 4 per customer lots of variety left.

Just to rejuvinate a previous joke of mine...

That's because they still use these in Yorkshire:

They are apparently restricted to 4, but that's only if you buy one box....:D

Oh and just to say as I did in a previous post we have the "4 per customer" sign up but have been allowing customers more - However why oh why do people feel the need to try and clear the shelves and take 100+ Pure greed IMO:rolleyes:

Boot sales and similar most likely. As you say, pure greed, especially when they arent even looking at what they are getting.
You would hope these people are stopped from buying that many and shown up when they try.

Tesco Musselburgh had no 1p SEL so I accosted a passing SA. She had a scanner and checked all the different varieties of bulbs on the shelf for me, and lots of them scanned at 1p, yeah! She was quite happy for me to take about 25 assorted ones then got a junior member of staff to take the rest round to the reduced section. She was rolling her eyes a bit though, not at me but at the rubbish communication they were getting from HO about the bulbs. I think most of the staff are well sick of the bulbs and HO.

But there were a couple of hundred left at Tesco Musselburgh this am, all sorts. I've got enough now.
    Val.
