Did the people who have been informed of "adjustments" use 2 or 3 codes (including free p+p) i.e. are they chasing up people who used 2 codes or just those who used 3 codes?

It has been mentioned a few times before that people who used 3 codes were getting emails to phone them, so is this them taking this to the next level?
  • LX sucks!
the site is shíte, its informative, the email system sucks, and im never shopping there again, discount or not.
they even had the cheek to not email me to tell me that the item would not be despatched until the 3rd of november although the items have both been out over a month.

so i cancelled my order and got it from play.com - no vouchers no nothin.

Just the free delivery and £15 off 1st order codes were used.

I noticed on some dell threads some sample letters that money savers have been recommended to send....

can someone help us to write a letter (polite but firm) saying that its their (LXDirect) mistake, the order (order placed + order dispatched + order received) completed and that my friend has been unfairly billed.

    Nick.

  • 2 things to remember here: :)

    1. Order Acknowledgment email is a contract. If the discounted price is shown on this confirmation then that is the price you should pay.

    2. Credit card payment is protected. If the company takes more cash than you have agreed on your Order Acknowledgment then the credit card company will chase LXDirect on your behalf.

Phone LX Direct and tell them that you have the wrong amount on your Advice note. Do not let them fob you off. Tell them that the Order Acknowledgment price is the price that they have agreed to sell you the goods and that Trading Standards have advised you that they cannot charge you any more. They will agree to pay back any extra that they have asked your credit card company for. Any difficulties phone your credit card company and your local Trading Standard Office (part of you local council services).

Any credit card errors should be corrected within 3-4 working days.

Out of everyone that has received a letter from LX Direct how many orders have you actually placed with them and how many codes have you used?

I placed 3 or 4 orders on each account I have one in my name and one in my husbands name, I havent ordered from them in a couple of weeks though and all of my orders have gone through I ma waiting for one to be delivered I have called them and they say that I have to give them a ring on the 2 Nov I think I will wait until then before ordering anything else.
  • i cancelled my order with LX and they still had to mess with my bank account, they creditted both items and then took the money out... whats with that...

thats a crappy and im sure an unlawful way of doing it... theyre taking money out of your account even after you have cancelled it... regardless of whether they credit you first... surely this would make people have to pay more tax? - i dont have to pay tax as im only 17, but im sure the extra money going in your account would count towards tax?

I don't think so. A supplier messing around debiting and crediting your account doesn't represent taxable income AFAIK.
  • If anyone has any problems with lx do three things
    1. Call them and say "i authorised £x to be taken from my account no more, taking any more is illegal. (donno if its true but that one works)"
    2. If they argue say "if you cant help me im sure the bbc's watchdog can"
    3. Tell them you are a lawyer/newspaper editor/ prime minister? But make it convincing!
    Good luck
    That mrs macchicken to you!
