Tax Credit's I can't get through the security questions

Until Friday, i had always been lucky with the questions, I even knew my PAYE number as I use it each time I work.
Then Friday I was asked if I worked, who for and then what their PAYE ref number was.....that is something I have no idea of, we dont get told it, its not on our wage slip or anything. So I failed the checks. All I had wanted to know was why my payment had gone in early and check if my updated income was correct!0 -
Very few people actually know what their PAYE reference number is and even though you write it on your original claim (usually after looking at a payslip/P60/calling the payroll dept) I find it a ridiculous security question.:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Have you possibly changed employer and not notified TCO?
Possible you may have failed on another question?
You will only be asked for PAYE if the name of your employer does not match what is held on the system - some employers are registered under a different name. eg Tesco is registered as "Julie" and Asda shows as "Ceridian". If the name you give doesnt match you need to give the PAYE as this should be the same.0 -

See previous post as to why PAYE is requested.
The questions asked are for information known to you or information you can find.0 -
Crazyangel, have you managed to pass security as yet?0

The details I gave on the phone were the same I gave a few days earlier updating my income. It was definitely the last question I failed on, as i know who I work for ( its Primark and the name stays the same) and they defiantly asked for their PAYE number, like I said I know mine as I use it each time I work.
Oh well!0 -

I'm sorry to be a pedant but you use your payroll/employee number each time you work.
Your PAYE (pay as you earn) reference relates to your employer so it will be the same for all your colleagues.:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! I was also thinking this. I can only assume you mean your payroll number.
And I am not sure Primark is usually the name that shows on the PAYE database.0 -

No i haven't , i have given up,i have never come across such rude call centre staff in my life. The dead line to claim is also up ,so i won't bother now, but i will have problems again in a few months when my younger son leaves school.0 -
Go to an Enquiry Centre?
Take as much ID with you as possible.
Make sure to take a note of all your current details with you just in case you need to correct them. Maybe also take along your award notices.0
