The question about the year you first claimed is a pain, you hate being asked it and we hate having to ask it, but sometimes we do. We have a list of questions we have to ask in a specific order, if a question doesn't apply then we skip it. Many people never get asked the year question, but when it has to be asked it does have to be asked.

Each advisor is now checked daily to ensure they are complying with the security procedures, we simply cannot bypass the questions no matter how much you beg. We really don't like having to fail people on security, but your details and our jobs depend on it.

Well how about they come up with some cleverly (is that a word  ) thought out security questions that WE can provide ourselves or is that far too logical for the TC's

BTW ~ thats a  at the TC's not at the TCA's

    What questions would you ask?

No having a go, I am in a quality forum in my office and I can put forward suggestions if they are reasonable.

I think the main problem with the security is that the people who wrote the procedures are not people who speak to customers day to day so don't realise the problems they cause, added to the fact that the new procedures were put together in a rush due to the data loss. as subsonic says, new procedures are being put together but there is no confirmed date when these will be put in place

Child's middle name (if applicable), but don't have them on the award notice unlike currently. I've just checked.;)

Why not a 4 digit pin like the banks use? It would be simpler than having a rake of questions that might be answered wrong by mistake.

These would not be on the claim form.

Not feasible as this has been suggested - too easy to hijack claims if someone gets this one piece of information.

Add them to the claim form when you first apply, so it helps new applicants at least. Claimant's mother's maiden name is another.
