Hi everyone,
Well we're starting to get tired of looking... our area seems to be in a bubble, no price decreases here - and all the estate agents say properties are 'flying out' as they come in and saying 'Ooooh we don't have anything in that price range', making you feel that the last 4 years of savings are pointless...
Is anyone else looking in the south east and finding this? Can't be sure I will buy now at this rate, we may be forced to leave it 10-12 weeks and see what happens after Summer.
Seems some properties that were on for say £165, are now prices at £175 for the Spring bounce! Some poor sod who didn't know this will end up buying it...
Anyone else have enough deposit but feeling cheated?MFW #185

Thanks for the congrats, good luck to you too, I'll keep you all posted with what happens with this house, they're not in a chain and have already move to a house so its empty waiting to go!! The price agreement, mortgage, survey etc all to come!!
The one we want is empty - old person gone into care and the family are dealing with it.
The good news is one of my friends has just offered us up to £3k to borrow to put towards the house and fees :jjust gotta bag it now!

THats great news congratulations!!
Got a few headaches at the moment, I only moved back home with my parents a couple of months ago but haven't registered on the electoral roll here yet, and I'm told that could be a big problem, it doesn't get updated til the first day of the following month. We're applying for a mortgage on Friday and I don't want anything to affect our chances on the application and i know this will.
The only thing I can do is go down there and explain the situation. I have sent my completed form for the electoral roll today. It's always darkest before the dawn.

Hey all,
it was payday a few days ago so its time for an update! and i have met a major milestone!
I had to pay for a new cambelt on my car this month, which cost me £600 with the service, this ment i was only able to save about £300.
However...... as i was only just under last month....i am now at £10,280!
wooooo hooooooo! A little over half way to my target
its great to hear about people venturing into the housing market...good luck to you all!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

We got our mortgage agreement in principle _party_ feels like a weight off our shoulders
And we've put a generous offer on the property we want, just waiting to hear back now - so nervous, but slightly excited :j

ps. We got on the electoral roll at the parents house in May and lucky we did if it majorly affects your chances.DFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022

Gosh I am so impressed with all you savers. I am trying desperately to save but other things keep cropping up- car problems, needing a holiday (albeit once a year) etc. So want to buy own place but living in London makes it seem so virtually impossible. I mean 250K buys you a small 1 (2, if your lucky ) bedroom flat.... so the decision is whether to stay here and rent or move to have a glimmer of hope of buying, Partner thinks Im crazy and that we should rent so as not to get tied down anywhere...... ahh?!0

For fun I sometimes look at what I could buy in cheaper areas of the country but whilst fun it can be frustrating cause I'm here with work and moving would be tricky but at least East Anglia is cheaper than London and home countiesLooking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier
