How come the with all the problems in the eurozone and Greece looking like it's about to implode is the euro not in free-fall? The pound is actually down against the euro at this moment as I write.

My only guess is that we are just as much up to our necks in it.

or more accurately the German fear that this Euro business would end up with Germany (& France, whose idea it has been for well over 100 years) having to bail out fe-ckless foreigners.

Here is a quick run down of whose tax payers have had to bail out what, possibly in exchange for losing a chunk of their savings to inflation.

Interestingly, China is becoming a worry because they are spending a fortune building fancy new everything, BUT will their people be able to afford the future maintenance/depreciation. Have they really done any current cost accounting ?

As the speculation over the value of the Euro continues, in the light of the fraudulent figures created in Greece, I have checked my Euro's.

The coins are fairly easy; ignoring the coin values I have the following exposure:

    3 - Austrian.
    5 - German
    3 - Dutch
    2 - Italian
    6 - Spanish
    15 French
2 - trolley tokens Sainsbury Calais
1 - trolley token Auchan Flandre Littorale

The notes are more difficult to identify. Does the serial prefix identify the issuing bank?

    I have
    4 - X
    1 - V
    3 - U
    1 - Z

With a bit of luck there are no Greek ones in this list, in case it all falls apart; though perhaps the trolley tokens will be the most likely of the fiat currencies to retain their value.

As it happens i am in the market for a collection such as yours, and i am prepared to pay "top dollar" sight unseen,
Would you swop for the following........26 Esso world cup tokens,4 jam jar lids,1 yogurt lid once licked by George Michael,3 tap washers (legal currency in Botswana) and a signed photo of my wife in the bath.
I give you first option on these valuable items, but would you please reply asap as my wife is starting to wrinkle and the bath water is going cold.
