OS Daily for Saturday 8th March 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 8th March 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi everyone - it's ages since I started the thread.

Hope everyone is well and (((hugs))) to all in need.

SMOKY - I have just pm'd you to see if you can contact the mortgage people and ask for a 'mortgage holiday' - a couple of months off; of course, it will be added on to the mortgage period at the end but could help for now. Also, get in touch with the benefits people and, also, find out if the hospital has an 'almoner', someone who looks after patients' family needs. They helped my my Mum enormously when she needed it.

I would love to be able to help with the children - that must be such a worry for you, on top of everything else. You are being very brave and strong; I'm full of admiration for how you are coping with everything. Thoughts and prayers with you all.

Well, I've been up since about 4am printing off knitting patterns to send my Mum and writing her a letter to go with them.

DH is working this morning so it gives me a chance to catch up on things that I didn't get done yesterday. I was whacked out last night and my intention to spend the evening knitting went out of the window. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Today, even though I was awake early, I feel more lively - for now, at least!

I have a small pile of ironing to do and I need to make some cakes so they will be my first chores. Then I shall walk up to the post office to post some letters and pick up the newspaper and then I shall try and chill out for the rest of the day and knit! I'm planning a fry-up for dinner so that will be easy - especially if I can talk DH into cooking it. It's one of the few meals he's capable of cooking!

Well, I'm going to have a shower then wake DH up so I will see you all later.

(((Hugs))) to all in need and have a great day!

Oh, and CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Morning Mioliere and everyone who follows

Very special hugs to Smoky this morning :grouphug: sorry to hear that there isn`t any good news yet.

Well i`m on the sofa where i fell asleep last night, both the hounds have stayed down here with me and the monster cat is on the windowsill watching the birds on the bird table.
    The bm has just beeped

*runs into kitchen to take out the loaf - then runs back again *

The dw needs emptying and i fell asleep before putting the washing machine on  i`ll have to do the washing today and use the full price electricity as i really need to get the bedding done at least as i`ve quite a lot to do.

Yesterdays housew**k never got done and neither did most of the cooking, after taking an elderly rellie to the shops i ended up doing other little things like haircutting and by the time i got back home i was shattered. DH was home too by then so he would have just got in the way anyhow, thats my excuse.
I have to see if i can fit most of it in today as i should have been off this weekend but i`m now working tomorrow so that someone else can have the day off instead, it all goes into my little pot and i may be able to keep the car this way.
I`m off to tackle the wild mop of hair then i`ll be zooming around with the duster so i`ll catch up later.
((((hugs)))) to all who need them - Penny pincher - i do hope that you are feeling much better today and feel like going out.

morning everyone.. well today is my birthday but we got some bad news during the week thats sort of put a dampner on it.. My aunt was burgled during the day the bloke broke in and manhandled her to the ground she is 79 and not in good health, she couldnt or wouldnt be able to fight him off anyhow but he tied her up and in all this she broke her shoulder. If it wasnt for my cousin turning up then god knows how much more might have happened and to top it all off when she got to the hospital they only left her on a trolley that wasnt working properly and she fell off it breaking the shoulder even more.. To be truthful im not sure she has the fight left in her to get her through it all and she will be in hospital for a few weeks time.. they didnt catch him yet but im sure if they do he will just get a slap on the wrist for being a naughty boy arghhhh

anyway apart from that we going for lunch today my daughter wanted to take me out for mothers day but i wasnt well (flu) so today she taking me out for pizza lol but told my other half he has to pay for his own as its not his birthday hee hee he ..

have a nice day all catch ya laters

(((((Smoky)))) BIG HUGS!! Wish I could help out in some way ...

    Morning all,

((HUGS)) to all those who want/need them.

I've got a new job!!! It's in recruitment which I've never done before but am really looking forward to starting. :D

I've also received some compensation too so my total debt is looking far better :D ... Can't wait to get under a grand and then under £500 ... and then start saving (yippee!!!)

Only housework that needs doing is putting washing away, floors and kitchen. Aim to do that this morning and then wash car.

Tomorrow is when the bulk cooking, baking and sandwich making goes on in our house ... I'm in the kitchen doing the roast anyway so it's easier just to get it all done at once.

I'm going to have a good read of the 'simplifying life' thread before I go back to work because I'm returning after suffering with anxiety and panic attacks, so need to keep myself well and make sure I don't slip back in to the anxiety which is possible because I haven't been able to sleep properly the last few nights because I've been stressing :(

Anyway hope everyone has a great Saturday
    Luv xx

    Morning everyone :hello:

    :grouphug: to smoky

    Happy birthday jockett :bdaycake:

I'm feeling all virtuous now, after having helped at the cinema last night. There were some lovely people helping, all old enough to be my mother or father, but easy to chat to. One of my old PGCE friends who now lives in the same town as me, was there so I was able to look semi-popular. :D

We've got the farmers' market to go to this morning and this afternoon it's a rugby fest. :) Along with all my osfted stuff.... joy!

    Have a good day all.

Morning all! Beautiful day here, so hoping to get some time in the garden today, and we're planning all day tomorrow :j

DH has taken the Small Ones to swim club, so I'm making onion soup and olive bread for lunch. Have a small pile of ironing, and the latest Ashes to Ashes to keep me company through that :D DS is off to football and DD will be finishing her packing and tidying her room for me to give it a thorough dust and hoover while she's away.

Smoky, hugs for you. Hope you and your family are managing to get some time for yourselves.

Smashing blouse - DVT sounds painful (a friend of mine had it after a couple of long haul flights)

Jockett - Happy Birthday :bdaycake: What a terrible thing to happen to your aunt; the robbery is bad enough but the assault   and Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! If I got my hands on hi, he'd be singing castrato for the rest of his life :D

Churchie - are you hiding - not seen you for a while :kisses3:

Have a Super Saturday, Penny. x
