  • I called my credit crd compnay today asing for a refund for tickets for a show I was going to see. They told me as 90 days have elapsed that they wouldn't be able to help me with my dispute. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

This was booked with the virgin mastercard.
  • For some reason I seem to remember the 90 days should apply from when you expect to recieve the goods. In the case of tickets where you might buy them months and months in advance it could easily be more than 90 days before you know you have a problem.

There is a link here where Section 75 of the consumer act is discussed:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases

Although it doesn't mention the 90 days. It does say if you buy them through a third party you're not covered either.

Anyone got any firmer info on the 90 days?

  • Hi, I have just bought a v ticket off www. v-festival-2009 .com (sorry for the spaces in between the dotes, i wasnt allowed to post this note with it been a link) it is a sponsored google sight, infact it is the first that comes up on the search in the highlighted bit. I have received an email confirmation receipt however my friend says it is a scam. You can only contact them via email, however for example the official oasis site has no contact info either. It also states they never sell out. Any ideas or experience with this exact site... thanks

  • If there are so many complaint to credit card companies about these companies then why do the credit card still go ahead with the requests. Surley they know who these companies are and should have them flaged as the transaction is requested them contactact the customer advising them of this so that the customer is aware of of it them it's up to the customer if they then wish to proceed with the transaction. Or are the credit card companies STUPID!!!! as they then have to use vast amounts of time and manpower to solve the issue some with unhappy outcomes. Surely the customer comes first or is that a thing of the past these days. Seems everyone is out to rip us off
  • My sister purchased tickets from these guys in Feb for her husbands 50th. After numerous emails where they gave them all details including hotel where the tickets were to be sent etc, they emailed yesterday to say they couldn't provide tickets. When I called them they were very cagey and wouldn't reveal names of directors etc. Has anyone else had a similar experience.

As 2011 T In The Park tickets haven't gone on general sale yet, then this is not an official site. As for whether or not you will receive tickets, you unfortunately have no way of telling up until the time of the festival.

Sorry chriscroz but it's a scam site.

The server is based in Slovakia,

    http://geotool.flagfox.net/?ip=81.89.48.32&host=www.tinthepark2011.net

but the Domain Registration hides behind a privacy protection service based in Singapore.

    http://whois.domaintools.com/tinthepark2011.net

There is no address or phone number on the website that I can see. The site was only created on 20/07/2010. Also note that their terms and conditions say the tickets will only be delivered 7-10 days before the event takes place and that there will be no refunds made under any circumstances. I would be very surprised if the site is still up and running at that point.

Best thing to do is contact your credit card company and try and get a chargeback.

It's not necessarily a 'scam' though, it clearly states that it's an unofficial ticket resale site in the terms and conditions, so technically they've not broken their contract or done anything wrong yet, so you might not be successful in doing a chargeback until after the festival.

But the only way to be sure is to buy through authorised retailers, who will be listed on the official festival website
