  • Hi,

Please can someone help me. I'm going to sound really really stupid now.. But i've just bought some Kings of Leon tickets about an hour ago from paperticket.co.uk and after flicking thru this thread I am now really really worried! Is this really a con site? And is there anyone on here that has pruchased tickets from the site but has never received them?! I feel like such a fool but only bought the tickets for my boyfriends 21st, he's mad on them!

Any help would be much appreciated :)
  • Hi,

I've made a similar mistake with paperticket so you aren't alone tara. I bought 2 tickets off them for £60 and got an email confirming that I'd bought 6 for £185!! Obviously, this got me suspicious. So I ended up here and have since emailed them to cancel the order and contacted my bank re:blocking the payment. Nothings showing on my account yet though but apparently as soon as it does I can dispute the payment.

Any further advice on how I should proceed? I really want to nip this one in the bud asap!
  • How stupid and worried do I feel !!?

Yep, I've not only paid £40 for a Kings of Leon ticket, but today bought another one for a friend, only to find by chance mention of the site I used (Paperticket) on google, which led me to this thread!

I've read right through it untill the end and see that a lot of the talk is of the site who ripped all you people-off for Reading'08 tickets. There are some about paperticket but not many, can anyone give more details of what happened when they used this site?

Also can anyone give me some hope that paperticket dont ALWAYS rip people off? I mean is there any chance that they mostly make their money charging over the odds for tickets, as they claim and only occasionly resort to dirty tricks?

Or is this just a vain forlorn hope ?

With the bank holiday I need to wait till Tuesday to contact my bank so anything learned from this forum will be much appreciated.
  • With regards to Paperticket.co.uk, i have started a seperate thread (Paperticket...Good or Bad ??) to have a good look at this site in particular. With various mentions to it in this thread, I would please ask anyone who's ever used paperticket to share your experiences (good or bad) on the new thread. Many people like me are getting really worried...

    Please Help !!
  • Just to add to this thread...

About 15 mins ago I bought 3 tickets for Eddie Izzard in December, and it was through paperticket.co.uk

Only then did i read and find out that it's a potentially fraudulent website. I called my bank immediately but because I paid with a Visa Debit card there is nothing showing up on my list of transactions.

I asked what could be done, they suggested I cancel my card before anything appears to go out of the account. They cancelled my card and said that if anything still appears to be going out then I can call again and they will attempt to stop the transaction.

I'm worried, but feel a bit better reading here that people who paid with debit cards are getting refunded. I don't want to lose £200!
  • there is no phone number on the paperticket web page but I was called by one of their employees and their number is 0750 545 6766. hope this helps!!

  • Go straight to your bank and get them to block/refund the payment.
Tell them you didn't authorise the payment or summat similar.
  • Seems like paperticket are just gonna come back in a different guise....

Shglasgow...you should cancel your card becuase I did the whole "wait n see" thing with paperticket...they turned-out to be scammers and I'm still waiting for my money back off my bank...

    Good Luck

A friend of mine paid a cheque for £903 to Durban Vienna for tickets to the Leeds Festival last summer. I thought she had lost the money for sure by not using a credit card.

However I helped her to issue a County Court claim online (moneyclaimonline) at a cost of £60 and remarkably she got a cheque for £963 about a month later.

So don't despair if you are in a similar situation - it is easy to do. All you need are the dates of payment etc - I also scanned a copy of the paid cheque and sent that as part of the claim.
