Blackpool sounds good to me. :j I may even persuade Mr-nearly-VickyA to come too. Neither of us have been to Blackpool and I can imagine I'll get to waste/spend all my 2ps in the amusement arcades.

For those of you who have been on breaks and may not have seen the change - there's a new venue and date for the get together.

Details are in the first post of this thread

    And I quote:-

Hi all - I am making an executive decision and the Old Style meet will be in Blackpool on Saturday 19th November 2005 Hotels are a plenty at this time of year and I should be able to do a deal if we have sufficient numbers. I won't make a final decision as to which hotel yet - I have spoken to a number of hoteliers who will be pleased to take a group booking at this time of year (of course ) but until I have final numbers, who does and does not want to share if necessary and how many men or women there will be (in case of room sharing) I can't decide which one I shall book. Rest assured, they will be from the budget end of the scale - ie small family run hotels which are clean and comfy is all we want, so somewhere around the £18-£25 pp/pn range.

With regards to specific requirements, I shall try, but if the cheaper ones doesn't cater for, say, wheelchairs, than I shall ask them for recommendations of nearby ones that do, so you can still come and join us, albeit may sleep at another establishment.

Please confirm who will be coming and if you are prepared to share (and who with if necessary). I know some OSers are away for a couple of weeks so there won't be any decisions made for a while.

Looking forward to meeting you all

I'm afraid my lift can't make the new venue - so as of now I'm not sure if I'll be able to come along. I'm just going to have to try saving up a bit harder :)

I would love to join you but as Spud will only be 3 months old I think he will be a bit too young for that long journey so I'll have to pass.....unless you can convince me that I am being an overprotective new mum???:o:rotfl:

yes you are being a tad over-protective but I suppose it goes with the territory.

To everybody else---WHY, WHY , WHY on Earth would you want to come to Blackpool in the middle of November
This town is renowned for being full of tat and cheap tacky goods. There is no way on this earth that anybody can save money here.Yes the Illuminations may have finished by then, but that doesn't stop the money grabbing gits round here trying to squeeze the last penny out of you before they !!!!!! off to the Canaries for 3-4 months.
By the way they only do that because they read about the deals available on MMS.
Out of season Blackpool is akin to standing in a cold feed only shower, naked, whilst not being allowed to rub yourself either with, or without, soap.
You will stand for hours waiting for a taxi, bus, police officer or doctor.
You can't stop (not PARK I might add) for no more than 48 seconds without getting a £60 parking fine.
You WILL be charged over the odds for any bottled, draught, canned, regurgitated alcohol that you may be unlucky enough to find dispensed in this God forsaken dump.
I thought that the idea of this site was for money SAVERS to get together and screw the rest back(if that makes sense)
    Take a tip
have a look at the links for cheap flights
    TENERIFE----GRAN CANARIA
    LANZAROTE
You will spend as much getting there and arranging accommodation for TWO weeks as you would for a weekend in Blackpool in NOVEMBER
    OH
and the sun don't shine in Blackpool in November.
Come to that it don't shine much the rest of the year.

My wife has just recently completed a degree course in tourism and (we) have done a lot of work studying Blackpool and the possibilities for the future.
    THERE IS NONE
If you want to come in November to play at one of the super casinos----please feel free to try the next millennium.
If you want to come to ride the pleasure beach-you may need to check that it is open on that specific week-end.

If you are still adamant that you are coming here,
drop me a line and I'll see what I can do for you
