Thank you firstly Naturally for posting the Dont Quit poem as I was going to dig it out and post it again!
Rob
SW is a way of life for me now and although I have some days even weeks when it goes totally and utterly pear shaped and I fall off the wagon spectacularly, SW is ingrained in me and it isnt long before Im making healthy choices again and Im back on the plan. I dont think anyone who is following the SW plan can honestly say that they could follow it 110% for the rest of their lives. Its important to allow yourself the occasional treat so dont beat yourself up about it and just ensure it is just an occasional treat and not an everyday occurence. I lost 3 pounds this week and was slimmer of the week for the second week running. This was after a week where I had my sisters birthday, a chinese lunch out and a couple of pub meals out.
All I did was make sensible choices but I still enjoyed myself and I havent felt deprived. When I wasnt out, I was sticking to the plan. (oh and I went for two long walks as well!!)
Im intending on approaching xmas in the same way.0 -
Feeling a bit down today
I have been very very poorly the last 24 hours, I shall spare you all the details, but it meant that I missed class last nightThis is the first class I have missed (other than being out of the country) since I started back in April.
I am convinced I would have got my 1.5 stone award which I have fought long and hard for, it was party night, grand raffle night (my losses meant I was in for a chance on the slow cooker) and secret santa night.
I am just feeling sorry for myself really. I had looked forward to last night for weeks. just seems so unfair. I am sat here dosed up on paracetamol and ibuprofen, drinking lots of water. I just wast to feel better.
Oh well, another week ahead of being :A to try to ensure my sticker before christmas.0 -

I thought I read on here that VFF is more or less syn free but of course unless you know for sure there is no point.Mind you if the Fat free one is 8 syns then that theory is blown out of the window. Do you think SW have shares in |Mullers? It is a shame as these yogurts were only 29p each and when you compare that to Mullers, I would really like to be able to use them!!!
I think very low fat yoghurt is syn free , but that's with nothing else added. A lot of low fat products make up for the loss of taste by adding in sugar  which affects the syn value. Is there a high sugar content in those yoghurts maybe?
I'm sure I read somewhere Slimming World do have an agreement with muller which means muller tell them if they change the recipe so they know in advance how to syn it, but it is frustrating that SW don't tell you more about the cheaper ones. Not so long ago you used to be able to get 10 mullers for £2 but nowadays you're lucky if you can find one for under 50p! :eek:0 -
Hope you feel better angie. I am feeling a bit like I'm coming down with a cold or worse so I'm going to try to make loads of batches of freezer SW friendly meals to keep me going if I do feel ill.
I never knew that VFF and VLF yogurts would be anything other than syn freeI saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them, but they were only satellites
It's wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
Angie - sorry to hear you're not well. You sound like me, I think I've only missed a class when I've been on holiday.;)
Concentrate on getting better, enjoy Xmas and then get back into the swing of things.0 -
i feel a bit down tonight , i know i shouldnt of checked my weight last sat but im worrying now that although i have not had that many syns except last night 1 glass of wine and a donner meat kebab , im worrying that i will have put this back on , i was 17 8 at last weeks weigh in so any loss below that will be good and i only need a 1lb to get my 1st loss but im really worried that ill be sts , i know thats also an achievement but i feel like i have let my self down , problem was it was my friends birthday and he was wasted and he made me go in there (well i had to wheel him in ) an it was just too tempting. How do you guys get over the guilt etc ? any other advice you have ?
It was Margaret Miles-Bramwell herself who said if you had a vase of flowers and one of them died, you wouldn't throw away the whole bunch would you? You'd weed out the one bad one and carry on looking after the rest.
It's just the same with a diet. One bad day won't make much difference, the problems begin when that one bad day leads to a bad week, month, year etc. The way forward is to draw a line under it, try to learn something from it and move onI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
