  • I am really imprssed by your walking:T I know I wouldn't be able to cover the distance you do at the moment but I could probably do a mile (at a push:o) in about the same time frame! What I lack is the get up and go to get up and go if you see what I mean! How do you make yourself do it? Or are you really wanting to go? I do eat all the right foods but I get almost no exercise at all. In fact the longest walk I had this week was around Tesco doing my shopping. God I feel so embarrased saying that:o:o!
Your dinner sounds good, think I have a ribeye in the freezer, might have that for tonight:j

    Marion

    Hiya marion :hello:
    thanks for that :beer::T

Difficult to say really :o:o I just do it !! I have to say I can scarcely believe it myself - even more so after I've done it and think about the distance I've covered.

I started off walking much shorter distances and I just found myself wanting to push myself further and setting points I wanted to reach and constantly going further and further.

I really surprised myself with the 3.7 miler I did earlier in the week , then just wanted to keep pushing further and when I hit 4.61 on Friday night I couldn't help thinking how close that was to 5 miles and that that would be a good milestone to hit - so was determined last night not to go less than 5 miles.

Also the posts advising that ones metabolic rate goes up and burns fat more quickly along with seeing how many calories my walks are burning - all these factors spur me on.

I just wrap up warm, take a brolly, plug in my mp3 player and don't allow the weather to affect me and off I go :j:j

Morning all, I find that planning ahead, having an MP3 player, and starting with short sessions really helps with walking Marion. A pedometer's useful too, if you have one. Having music makes the steps fly past! Do be careful not to overdo it at first though, I managed to hurt my knee at one point, which was counterproductive.

I had too many crisps again last night:mad: Wish I'd stop buying them...

Still, today is a new day, cerial for brekkie; ryvitas, quark and herb salt for lunch; roast pork, SW roasties, veg, and fruit salad for supper, mmmm.

    Have a good day everyone,

    Jay xx
    Anytime;)

Afternoon All, I was out on my staff night out last night I have no idea how many Syns I had...probably close on 100!! But hey flexible Syns, and it is a one off.

I have to announce though that I have lost 3lbs, now I am DEFINATELY NOT trying to lose weight, only to not gain (much). I am pleased though because I had put on a lot quite rapidly and I know it was from eating unhealthy food. Whereas I have lost that unwittingly, but have had a much better, all round healthy, diet ast week.

I have not stuck to the plan 100% but feel a lot better that I am trying everyday and I just think to myself, that maybe I have gone over Syns on a particular day....but if I hadn't been trying to stay on plan, how much worse would it have been.

I fell off the wagon big time this weekend and took my bf with me. (hes doing sw too) we were going to a gig on Friday night (James and it was AWESOME!!!) anyway, we'd both saved all our syns since Monday, but we drank beer and vodka, probably about 45-55 syns in all, BUT on Sat we got up and I had the shakes and felt awful, so we headed for a cafe and had 2 rolls in square sausage with ketchup. we decided to be totally bad and had a 12 inch spicy mince and chicken pizza for dinner then some Carte d'or vanilla (light) ice cream for afters. we must off consumed in excess of 150 syns this weekend :eek:. But today weve got up refreshed and having red days, and NO syns. Thats me going to be very good til xmas day.

    Hi everyone :hello:

things have been a bit hectic over the last few weeks so I havent had time to post much at all.

I am having a quiet afternoon today though so thought I would catch up

big hugs to everyone as Ive noted from some of the posts that some of you are going through tough times at the mo. :grouphug:

Ive manged to lose two weeks running which Im pleased about and im hoping for another couple of losses before xmas despite the various temptations (my sisters 21st tomorrow eve) my sw xmas party, my work office party etc etc. Ive already been out for chinese lunch this week plus steak burger and chips in the pub last night before going to a concert oh and the large glass of wine and large coffee baileys (plus 2 biscuits) when I got home!!

Im back on track today though with a mix to match day and this is what im having.....

Breakfast - Hi fi bar (HEB) and 2 cups of tea (milk from HEA)
Lunch - baby potatoes cooked as jackets then sprinkled with spices (paprika, cumin, chilli flakes, chilli powder) and roasted in the oven. Served with Total 0% yogurt (free), 28g cheese (HEA) and 35ml sweet chilli sauce (about 4 syns). (the total yogurt tastes like sour cream).

Tea is steak and roasted veg, onions, peppers, mushrooms, leeks

Pudding (if i need it) will be a total 0% yogurt with a teaspoon of lemon curd stirred through and a broken up tesco finest meringue.

so should be possible to keep my syns under 10 :D

Ive been faffing with my tesco home delivery orders all morning including picking my xmas bits. As I havent got very far to go to my target I dont want to undo all my hard work. Therefore this is how Im going to cope with xmas.

    * Ive bought too much chocolate but it doesnt all have to be munched over xmas week so instead I plan to enjoy the odd chocolate now and again and have plenty of chocolate left to see me through 2009!

    * Ive picked some nice (individual) deserts for my OH to enjoy but ensured they are ones I dont like. This includes not buying any clotted cream (1 level tbsp (tablespoon I think) is 4.5 syns

I know that if I buy stuff I like but tell myself I wont eat it, this wont happen and it will get munched so if I buy stuff I dont like, problem solved! because I wont be tempted.

puddings I have planned so I dont feel deprived include

meringue served with total 0% yogurt and mixed red fruit (2.5 syns per meringue)

greek 0% yogurt with a tablespoon of lemon curd stirred through and broken meringue (2.5 syns per meringue)

baked appled with a tablespoon of mincemeat in the middle (HEB) plus custard pot perhaps 6 syns or mullerlight banana custard yogurt (Free)

fresh pineapple and greek 0% yogurt with a squirt of lime juice (thank you rob i think for pineapple idea)

melon and raspberries with a tablespoon of asda red berry sauce (unknown syns for sauce).

    clementine or two!

tesco peach and apricot yogurt (free)

    * I am going for my traddional xmas eve curry at my local curry house but plan to have tandoori chicken for starter and hopefully for my main something that is just the meat with no sauce. also no naan bread or rice!! (hope my willpower holds up)

    * xmas day - plan to stuff myself silly with the meat and veggies with just a couple of potatoes etc meaning no room for pudding. will try not to drink too much sherry and fall asleep on the sofa like I did last year but instead have a glass of wine / plus a glass of water/ diet lemonade and alternate between the two.

    * try to make the most of my time off work and go out for a few walks so that if I do eat something i shouldnt, I can negotiate the damage by trying to be a bit more active rather than gluing myself to the sofa and the remote control!!

so there you go, thats what ive got planned. Im just hoping that it all works out!!!!!!!!

on a final note, for some reason following my tesco delivery this am, I have ended up with 12.5kg of potatoes :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Marion, what day are you doing today? It all sounds nice, but you've got free rice on the same day as free ribeye, pork and prawns - I'm confused!

I dont know what Mr Judders has started here but Ive been out for a walk this afternoon. I wrapped up warm, took my mp3 and wore my pedometer for this xmas experiment.

I walked round the block but it seemed to take no time at all so I decided I would go around again.

Before I headed for the final straight I went off course a bit but then got tired so headed back. When I got back my pedometer read 6832 steps. Ive just been over to walk jog run and logged the route in there and its come up at just under 3 miles so hopefully thats worked off the chips and other bad things I ate yesterday!!!
