Exercise would increase your 'MR' meaning you burn off more calories even when resting! :T

Got your email (Does that mean I'm a friend? ;) ) but didn't have time to reply sorry. Well done on the wonderful walk - and I was much impressed that it was in the wind and rain!

One of my works Xmas parties last night and I'm not feeling too 'with it' today after only 5.5hrs sleep and too much wine last night! :o

Foodwise I'm not really doing well, just trying to eat sensibly where I can between now and New Year - well resolutions don't start before New Year do they ;)

Got another works do next Friday and I think I'm regretting telling OH its 'black tie' as 'black tie' in Scotland means full dress kilt :o Wait til the girls in HR see him :o :rotfl: ;)

Joined an archery club too and although its not aerobic as such it does work your muscles and there's a lot of walking involved (to collect the arrows!) and it means I won't be sitting in front of the TV wanting snacks for at least one night a week!

In the New Year I will also join another SW class and make myself stay for the talk etc. OH will be studying again until May, 5 nights a week so I may aswell do something for me instead of rushing home only to sit in the bedroom on the laptop/watching TV! :T

LOL, yes I have always had quite strong arms and shoulders, but even if you haven't you can still do archery - if you get the right bow size and weight for you, then anyone can compete with anyone else on the same level.

J'man - sometimes, though I haven't done that yet! I've had an arrow bounce out, or one get stuck straight into the wood of the target stand. On Thursday we had chap who got his second arrow stuck in the end of his first arrow! A one in a million chance - he had his photo taken with it still in the target, lol but at up to £60 per arrow I don't think he was best pleased with losing two of his 6 arrows!

Well done rob, hope you get there! Pretty impressed with your planning of Xmas dinner the SW way - I think I talk for some (most?) of us in saying we usually have the one day off or at least use flexible syns! ;)

    Hi:santa2:

Are there any long-time members of SW around that could help me with a recipe i lost when moving house?

    It was for vegetable lasagne.

It's main point was that you made the cheese sauce by liquidising a tin and a half of macaroni cheese (which i understand is no longer allowed on the plan)............

I've bought half a ton of veggies but have now lost the recipe:eek: and i have vegetarian guests coming next week..

    TIA.......Panicking-Patty xxxxxx

It's not free to use macaroni cheese any more, but I have this recipe, using Quorn so suitable for veggies:-

    Lasagne
(0 Syns and 1 Healthy Extra)
    8-12 Lasagne Sheets
    1 Large Onion, finely chopped
    3 Garlic Cloves, crushed
    Fry Light
1 Large Pack of Fresh Quorn™ Mince
    2 x 400g Tin of Tomatoes
    Parsley and Oregano
1 x 200g Pot of Very Low Fat Natural Yogurt
28g per person grated Cheddar Cheese (using Healthy Extras)
    2 Egg Yolks & 1 Whole Egg
    A Pinch of Nutmeg
    Black Pepper
    Pinch of sweetener

    • Set the oven to 190˚C/ Fan assisted 170˚C
    • Spray a large frying pan with fry light and fry the onions and garlic.until softened
    • Add the Quorn mince and tomatoes and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cover and simmer for 15 – 20 minutes
    • Remove from the heat and add the seasoning and sweetener
    • Lightly spray a lasagne dish with fry light.
    • Line the bottom with lasagne sheets. Cover with some of the mixture and layer the lasagne sheets on top
    • Repeat, ending with the lasagne sheets
    • In a bowl mix together the yogurt, grated cheese, eggs, nutmeg and seasoning.
    • Pour this over the lasagne.
    • Bake for 20 – 30 minutes or until brown
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

It is very easy but flexible syns are there for a reasaon. You pick a maximum you want to go up to but still have everything you want, say 50 syns to include for example some nibbles, a bit of choc, bit of pudding, some alcohol etc. Then you keep counting all day. You stay in control and its all good.

    Hey all

I have not been about for a while been suffering really badly with siatica, going back to the doctors next week so hopefully they will help me sort it.

Anyway!...I have started thinking about my christmas day food like someother people on here, me and my OH are both doing SW so it is going to be a good christmas day.

I was just wondering does anyone have any ideas or recipes for a way i can make a SW friendly Pate? I always have it to start my christmas dinner, if anyone could help that would be fab.

What is everyone else doing for christmas day?
