Whistling Gypsey - I hit a plateau too months ago so I'm giving it a break (whilst trying not to put on) until New Year but then I've done it for 6 years now - your body gets used to what you eat so you need to make sure;
You mix things up a bit - try Mix2Max and Success Express or more red/green days if you tend to stick to one (I love green!)
Try the 14 different HEb's in a week challenge
Drink loads of water (at least 2 litres a day but not excessive i.e. more than 5litres a day if you're not exercising - can cause brain damage...!)
Up your exercise if poss - diet alone does stop working up to a point, then you need to start burning!
C xx0 -
Remember that upping your exercise doesn't actually mean run a mini marathon a day (although that might be tempting to see the weight loss!!)
... For some reason even though I know it is going to be hard I want to really give my weight loss a kick start this week (Ho hum, nothing like a friend's wedding in a week's time to put the frighteners on!!) so I'm vowing to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes this week, not killing myself in the gym but a walk or similar. I feel this is achievable (at least in the short term) and hope it will really make a difference to my weight.0 -
well done angie on your 1.5lbs lost this week:D
this week i sts which i.m not suprised:rolleyes:
i also had a cold that seens to be going round and i just woundered if anyone knows the lemsips all-in-one cold/flu sachets do you need to syn them also the throatie cough pastals for sore throats
anyhow feel a lot better now going for my 1 stone for crimbo 3.5lbs in 2 weeksjoined sw on 22/10/08lost 3 stonere-joined 8/1/12need to lose 2 stones:eek:4lbs:j0 -
Whistling gypsy, have you tried changing the amount of syns you eat? Some people seem to lose on more, others on less. I'm not good at all, keep eating too many crisps, but still losing. For some reason the overall chemistry of Sw seems to have worked for me so far. Or could it be you're having hidden ingredients in something you eat?Anytime;)0

Whistling Gypsy your menu plan looks good, but I wonder if you are one of those people who are adversley affected by white pasta. If you eat a lot, it may be worth while trying the wholemeal type just to see if it makes any difference.
The only other thing I noticed was that you said you drink loads of Pepsi Max. I know it's syn-free but it could be bloating you up and causing fluid retention - could you try to do without for a week and see what happens? Get stuck in to the water - try it hot with a slice of lemon, it's lovely.
Finally, if you have any magazines, follow one of the 7 day menu plans in there - it should lead to a weight loss as it's all worked out for you.
Stick with it, it definitely works so there has to be a mistake somewhere - we just have to find what it is and you'll be sorted!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Had a snacky lunch at work that was most definitely not SW friendly. Now going out tonight to a friend's 70s party. I doubt that will be any more SW friendly, but I aim to have a few drinks.I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them, but they were only satellites
It's wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
Good point about teh pasta consultant, I know I have to be careful with wheat generally, because of bloating and so on. Luckily I'm not keen on pasta.Anytime;)0

Aawww - thank you all for your replies/encouragement.You're all :A
retiredlady - good idea - I think i will ty to post a daily menu plan ad see if that shows anything up - and like you say commiting myself to the plan. Oh, and Quality Street for breakfast - off the menu from now on!!I love your daily eating plans - I always find them very inspiring!!:D
Skint_Catt - Hmm - I do tend to stick to the same HE's cos I love my All bran for brekkie - but I see what you mean and I will try the challenge!! Gutted t be 'plateauing' after just a week/one loss!! Still finding my feet on the 'normal' plan, and trying to do at least 3 original days a week - but get stuck for what to eat on these days sometimes - but I know some folk tend to lose more by doing more of these days. As I don't attend meetings am a bit confused by the MixnMatch principle - but I will look into it. If the normal plan doesn't work this week, following all this advice - then I will maybe try Success Express (if you don't mind me picking all your brains!!) Must up the water intake too......
Jay11 - started on 12 a week, cut down to 10, tried for 8 then upped again to 15 last week. Doesn't seem to make any difference. Not being strict enough with using them on a day to day basis - that will change now, thanks:cool:
Consultant31 - Good point about the pasta! I used to eat wholemeal all the time - changed recently to white (OH moved in and he eats a LOT - so bit of a moneysaving thing!) Will change back to wholemeal, which I prefer anyway, I have it maybe 3 or 4 times a week... Always use brown rice and wholemeal bread, so mabe this is the culprit!!
Your point about the pepsi is very valid too - I drink a couple of cans a day during the week and a bit more on a weekend. Other than that, I have acouple of cups of tea and a couple of pints of squash.....should I really be drinking plain water (with lemon, of course:p ) instead? I realise the fizzy stuff rots all manner of things - stopped drinking it for 6 months a year or two back and felt no better, so started again:o !! Am off to dig out some magazines and check the 7 day plans now....;)
Apologies for another rambling post - but thank you for all your support and encouragement here. I read avidly every day and follow everyones progress with great interest - hopefully I can join you in your losses soon!!!!:T

well just been for a looonnnng walk and save myself typing it all again just gonna paste in form an email I sent to family and friends :
Evenin all (Judders waves)
So earlier this week I did my longest "after work" walk at 1hr 16 mins and 3.7 miles .... wellll....... today exceeded that.
I started down the main road heading towards Ashton Town centre pondering if I wanted to do as long a walk as I did earlier this week and wasn't decided. Then a bit later thoughts turned to could I make it all the way to Ashton town centre and back without collapsing in a heap when I got home , or by the roadside before I got home ;-) . I thought well that is quite a way so on I walked and then thought oh wait there's that roundabout near ASDA just through the town centre and other night I headed off to the roundabout near Oldham town centre - why don't I make it a pair and go as far as that roundabout. Thus my target was duly set.
Oh by the way all this in constant rain and wind - with my brolly getting turned inside oot several times. So I decided I was definitely going to go that far , which I duly did and not long after turning round my brolly broke (just as well I have several others) and I did the rest of the walk getting wet and windswept ha ha.
anyhoo some 1hr 34 mins and ..... 4.61 miles later I am now back home and warming up.
Oh and according to www.walkrunjog.com that burned off 819 calories :-)
Hope you all have a good weekend
ehmm what's with this site changing the size of pasted text - and only part way through at thatHate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
Feedback on the quark dips I mentioned yesterday.
Stilton dip was totally delicious and by leaving the stilton to infuse the quark with flavour overnight really made it yummy, had it with carrot sticks and cucumber. Used the stilton as a HEA.
Chocolate option quark dip was a bit wierd, although I only had mint flavoured options in the house, sort of resembled a mint choc cheese cake taste, may try it again with belgian choc flavour next time. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
