  • :beer:Hoorah! After weeks of being :A and achieving little or nothing, I lost a massive (for me) 1.5lb this week...... only 0.5lb to go for my 1.5stone award (deja vu anyone??!)

    I really want to lose 2 stone altogether, and I have been doing this long enough, so it is just the slow road or me :rolleyes:


    I have been super good for the last week and today I had a mix2max day :

    B muller and banana, tea (milk = HA).

    L green - cheese (HB) and mushroom omlette, toms and crunchy potatoes (baked in microwave, skins on, then cubed and fried in frylight)

    D red - beef daube (carrots, swede, brisket, bovril, herbs, onions n garlic slow cooked in oven) with skin on mash (HB) and sprouts (they're not just for christmas you know!!)

    syns - g&t (2.5), wine (6), advent choc (2)

    Just popped into let you know I lost 1.5lb this week and got sotw. consultant wanted a full on chat with me but i got away with about 2 words because iv lost my voice :( i dont like being quiet wail.....

  • Hi - Another group of great losses - well done everyone! The closer it gets to Christmas the harder it is so respect to those of you who manage it and hugs to those who like me take things a little slower!

    Todays eating plan is:

    Breakfast - oats so simple with blueberries - (heb+free)
    Lunch - bacon, eggs and baked beans with baby plum tomatoes (free)
    Dinner - Chicken breast with jacket potato, swede and carrots (free)
    Snacks will be fruit and yogurt x 2(free)
    milk in cereal and coffee will be my hea
    No syns today as I sabatoged myself last night and had 40 syns:eek: worth of Galaxy chocolate:eek::o I won't miss the syns at all as I normally have to imake a point of adding syns to my plan. I eat enough of the free foods that I never really get the "munchies" but the call of the chocolate overpowered me last night:o:p!

  • Thanks for all your replies from my last post. Everyone’s so kind and supportive here, I’ve popped back for another moan! I’ve stuck to SW for another couple of weeks trying to take on board all your good advice – eating more regularly/often – and I stayed the same again :sad: Wouldn’t mind the odd week of STS but have stuck for a month now – and am not even cheating!!!! That 5lb loss the first week is now stretched over 5 weeks and is not looking so good anymore!!:rolleyes:

    Do you think there are just some people this doesn’t work for? :confused: I went into it wholeheartedly and intending to do it right – got all the books etc, wrote lists, menu plans etc (am a bit of a list freak). I consider everything I eat and write it down.

    I know some people say actually going to class is the only thing that helps – but I’ve been so motivated by the people here and my friend too (she’s lost nearly 1 ½ stones now) – I can’t see how that would help me more, even if I could justify the expense at the minute. I eat practically the same as my friend, and though I am a bit less active, surely that wouldn’t make such a huge difference this early on.

    Today….

    42g all bran (HEB) 1 shape lasting satisfaction yoghurt,
    1 banana
    3 quality street (2 syns each )

    For lunch I have a big tub of cold pasta, 2 chopped quorn sausages, sweetcorn and soyabeans with VLF yoghurt and 2 tablespoons chilli sauce (3 syns) that am already nibbling at….

    2 apples, a pot of pickled cabbage (mmmm) and another yoghurt for during the afternoon

    Butternut squash and prawns (HEB) risotto for tea – made with HM fat free stock, VLF Fromage frais and Parmesan (HEA) (I use about 250g risotto rice – and divide it between 2 of us - is this too much?)

    Milk for tea – 2 syns, Squash – 1 syn (Total 9 for the day so far)

    This is a very average day – have cereal/yoghurt/fruit every day, try and have different HEA’s and B’s (and weigh them!) and try and stick within 10 – 12 syns. Also drink Tesco sugar free high juice squash – 1/2 syn per 75ml serving, and lots of Pepsi Max.
    Experimenting with Quorn (Shepherds Pie tomorrow!) instead of red meat in an effort to be healthier..... I do try and have red days at least 3 times aweek - but do find them harder cos I can't seem to 'fill up' on free food those days
    Am stumped as to why its having so little effect and feel like giving up totally now and just shoving the rest of that tin of Quality Street down my neck cos it doesn't seem to be making any difference.

    Any thoughts?
