    Hiya consultant31 - thanks.

There's a label inside the front cover of the food optimising book, but it only gives the venue address, her first name and her landline number (the landline is on permanent answer phone). It's odd that today it just rings out - maybe there's a fault with it.

To be honest I was disappointed to not be given her e-mail adress, as most people do nowadays.

So glad that you give all your details and encourage midweek chats - that's great, well done!

Maybe it's something you could bring up in group in front of the other members? It could even lead to members getting details of each other and that's one of the best mid-week support systems you can have.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Do you think it matters what you use your syns for. I like to use Elmlea 30% cream and measure it by the tablespoon. In my book it says it is 1 syn per TBSP.

I like it on my porridge in the morning and also if I make a chickpea curry I like to add it in at the end. I also sometimes add it to home made rice pudding.

Is it any different to use up say 6 syns on a chocolate bar, or 6 syns on cream if that's what you want to use them for? Consultant 31 can you tell me your opinion?

I've just been told I'm going to be made redundant. :(

I just want to eat and spend! OH has persuaded me into a supermarket takeaway instead o fthe quorn meatballs and spaghetti and I haven't the enthusiasm to argue so I'll have a flexible syn day I think.

Syns are syns larmy, its just good you're having them but its good to change them around occasioanlly like your Healthy Extras.

I've never had my consultants (3) email addresses but I've aways had a mobile number to text them.

What sorts of results have people had from powerplates? Better than yoga?

Sorry to hear that SkintCatt - its a crappy time of year to tell you that (not that there is a good time!).
Dont give up on the plan though, its times like this when you need to keep in control. Thinking of you x

Thanks. I will keep with the plan as I don't want to put on to make me feel worse!

They have said they'll look for alternative work for me but at least a dozen have already been made redundant over the past few months so I'm not holding my breath. Due to internal politics its now me but I thought I'd be the last to go as I also cover Reception! :(

Third time in 11 years. :( We're not in a bad position as OH is doing well and we'll manage but its been such a shock to have been today!

That is crap news - im sorry, I know how you feel though, I was made redundant a few years ago now and as it happened it was the best thing that could have happened.
It obviously didnt feel like it at the time but I changed careers, re-trained and now i have a great job that i really like. I hope you can get someting positive out of this too. (((Hug for you)))

  • This is why SW don't recommend you save your syns for the weekend. Going without any treats for several days on the trot is asking too much of your will-power.

Bingeing, whether it's on food or alcohol, is unhealthy and that's basically what happens when you have the bulk of your syns over a couple of days.

Try going back to basics and following the plan as it is intended. If you have a special event to go to, you can always use flexible syns (though perhaps not every weekend :D )

If only it was me 'oversynning' at the weekend due to a social life! I'm afraid it's me with poor willpower when I am skint and don't have too many sw friendly foods in the cupboards. Although twice now a ryvita and nutella has saved me from going overboard in the evening.

what I need is to sit down and plan a week's menu, plus syns. That way I know I have stuff in that I want to eat and can pick at.

Steph - thanks for that.:T The one we tried was just a round gadget (but very sturdy) as far as I recall. I notice this has handles etc. Does yours? I have been trying to de-clutter for ages, so TBH the more compact the better.

Hi, yeah mine has handles on it so you can do loads of different manovers and does your bingo wings better (not that you have bingo wings) They are on wheels too which makes it easy to move, also use it on a solid surface like kitchen tiles instead of carpet as it doesnt work too great on carpets.

Evening, I hope all are well.

Sorry about your news skint-catt, the last thing you need!

I'm just back from SW, OH came and joined too. I think he's fine but he's been keen to lose a stone since a while, and it is nice to have company. I got a free week next week for introducing him :T.

I lost 1.5lb too, so a good night all round.

Have a good evening everyone, jay, xx
    Anytime;)
