Oh Just one other thing - in any reply also let me know if you are using the sheet in excel or compatible software (e.g. open office/star office) or using it on-line with Google docs - I'm using Google docs.

Lastly - if not Google docs would you be willing to move to that **IF** that gave you more functionality.

    Thanks

morning  in one month it will be :xmastree: ..... sorry - had to get that in!!!

Anyway I will be weighing in tonight and typically would eat whatever I wanted after weigh in and have done so pretty much all the time I have been doing SW. I used to weigh in on a Wednesday so Monday was a green day, Tuesday Red and Wednesday pm - eat what I want and start again the next day! I weigh in on a Tuesday now which still feels strange. A typical post in weigh in meal always involves tiger bread and either a new covent garden soup - warm and filling and very easy to cook or a piece of thai chicken (3.5 syns on red) obviously more on green and a couple of jackets along with unmeasured cheese and unmeasured wine followed by a desert of some description or a chocolate bar or both!

BUT Ive struggled with the plan recently though and need to get back on track particularly with :xmassmile just round the corner so feel that I should stick with the plan 110% including post weigh in.

    So

Do you weigh in and then go home and munch munch munch or do you still stick to the plan? Whats your typical post weigh in meal? I dont get in tilll about 8.15pm on weigh in night so whatever I eat, it has to be very quick to do or something easy that my OH can chuck in the oven for me so that its ready when I get in.

Also whilst we are on the subject, how do you cope with weekends? These are always my downfall despite my best intentions. Do you save up some syns so you can have a treat ?

I would also be interested on how you are planning on coping with xmas? I am determined to be a bit more restrained this year (this will be my second xmas on SW) particularly as I dont want to lose the weigh Ive put on recently over the next few weeks only to put it all back on again and more! over xmas!

    sorry for so many questions!!!

ignore this post - my computer has gone a bit mad this morning. its obviously excited about xmas being just round the corner.....
  • Judds, I'm using open office, but would be willing to move to google....I didn't know google docs existed :D

FE - You do speak a lot of sense. And occasional treats are a good thing. Just when they are happening 2-3 times a week you are in trouble! I want my initial motivation back. I would turn anything down if I didn't know the syn value and saved my syns until I got home from work in case I wanted dessert or a glass of wine. Oh happy days!

  • can anyone help me to relax and trust the plan

i read some people diaries and wonder how they can manage on so little food, i stick to the plan, but i do eat alot and i think my portions are too big, but my leader says 1-2lbs a week is a good loss and i need to relax and trust the plan but how can i do that when i feel guilty for eating

M goodness...how many posts have i got to get thru, ive only missed and evening and day, you lot dont half talk alot:rotfl: :rotfl:
    OK iluvSW....
The problem is we are told from all areas...the media...celebrities...doctors...dieticians....and our parents... that to lose weight you have to cut down your portion sizes eat less calories and do more excersize. SW completely contradicts all those theories and it is hard to accept at first. SW is tried and tested for years now and it just gets better and works better. you need to reprogramme your way of thinking to the SW way and you will start to relax but i know how hard it is. I have been doing SW on and off for 16 years and i still think sometimes i have ate too much, but as longs as it is the correct food then i have been fine.
the food diaries you have looked at?? what weight have they lost? i would like to bet a pound to a penny they have lost about the same as you each week and youre eating more, it could also be that they are just writing the food down once on their diary like i do, if i have baked pot for lunch and SW chips for tea i just write potato down once, if i eat 3 apples i just write apple.
I hope i have helped in some way, my sister is the same as you, she cant get her head round the fact that you have to eat to lose weight, she has done another diet for years so she is programmed that way, if i said she counts syns as points you will know which one i mean:D

I would either put something in the oven before I go to WI or have himself do it whilst I'm there. Usually it would be SW chips and pasta quiche. It would always be something 'good' as I would come back from group feeling motivated regardless of whether I lost or not.

Xmas is a different story! It'll be my first so I don't know how it'll pan out. I think to be honest I'll have 2 days of feeding myself whatever I like, but maybe looking at portion control. '2 mince pies are more than enough, now eat a satsuma' :rotfl:I really can't face having to eat different food to everyone else at xams. It's bad enough during the week, because through no fault of his own he'll buy something or eat something that reinforces that in my head. I can't expect the rest of the household to stop eating chocolate, pastry and crisps just because I can't. Well, I know I can in theory, but when all your syns have been used up on worktime cakes, you can't ;)

This will be a quick reply as I am on here briefly before I head off to work.

Until last week I would have whatever I wanted after weigh in - I don't get home till 21:05 to 21:20 depending how many attend - so waaaay too late to cook anything - so usually Fried Rice with Curry and a chip muffin from the chinese.

But I want to stop doing this so gonna try n move away from doing that - last week was BB Lasagne (made earlier in the week and frozen) SW chips - made before going to group and then re-heated when I got in. In future may also do pasta & sauce.

For Christmas I am going to let myself go 100% - indeed December is going to see me put on quite a bit - 3 meals out and an all day buffet in the office.

Yes weekends are yough for me tough - silly really as we have more time to prepare meals, put thought into it etc - but temptation seems to be higher - one thing I want to endeavour to do is to poulate the treats tab of my s/sheet and move towards better choices.

Yeah Open office is pretty good isn't it. Google docs is fab and makes spreadsheets soooo easy to use and of course has the benefit of being available form any PC - wouldn't use it for anything sensitive/confidential.

Drop me aPM if ya wanna be added to my distribution list :D

Have a good and healthy day all

  • I dont think Christmas will be a big problem for me, why should it be, there is nothing we cant have, thats the beauty of SW, have that mince pie if you want it and the slice of home made christmas cake, there is no need to go overboard just because its christmas. Christmas day will be a green day just like any roast dinner day, but i will syn the sausages wrapped in bacon and the gravy, the rest will be free and meat as HB, starter is melon balls with fresh mint and dessert will be a fruit greek yog and alpen light bar creation i made the other night, i might even use a christmas hifi bar to make it feel more christmassy. Boxing day will be a red day, eating all the left over cold meats, and loads of pickles. apart from those 2 days the rest of the time will be ordinary days for me except the kids will be at home..
