    You little tinker Chaos!
Dont sweat it though - just try to syn it as best you can and make allowance for it later in the week.
I cut a sliver off a cream slice in the kitchen at work last week - i knew I wasnt allowed one but I just had to have some.
To completely scupper your week you would have to do a lot worse than that dont beat yourself up this plan allows for this which is why it is brill!!

    Hey guys

Just got back from having changed groups - what a difference! I'm so chuffed: seems like a lovely group.

Anyway, been inspired... want to make a nice cheesy potato bake but I don't know how... does anyone have any ideas? I have potatos, quark, low fat chedder, stock cubes, red onions... must be able to make something with that, right??

I usually aim for 10-12 a day, but save 5 a day if Im planning a naughty weekend. My treats are a kit kat sometimes 2 with tea in the evening. I tried having 5 a day one week ages ago and I gained 1.5 lb even though I had been super good

Yeah that happened to me Nic - I ate very few syns and gained! I was gutted as I had a bad week the week before and thought the fewer syns the better, but it does not work like that (for me anyway). It does take some of the guilt out of that milky way (I have to have it, my consultant said....;)).

    On the subject of syns......

If, hypothetically speaking right, someone, say a woman, had been really good and packed a healthy breakfast and lunch for work (4 slices nimble, yogurt, fruit, baked potato and home made free veg curry) and after having healthy toast and marmite for brekkie, noticed that it was someone's birthday and cakes had been brought in, snaffled a donut before she could stop herself; then had 1 tbl of a friend's peanut butter in a sarnie with her last 2 slices of nimble. How disgusted should she feel with herself at such poor motivation she couldn't last until 11am without going off plan?

    Discuss.

I can quite happily avoid the cake aisle in a supermarket, even walk past all the cakes and marvel at how yummy they look and still leave them on the shelf and not fill my basket BUT

If I walk into my kitchen at work and there are cakes be it home made or otherwise then inevitably temptation overcomes me and I find myself munching and if they are those little crispie cakes, well its a diaster because I cant resist them!

I had a jam doughnut the other week and enjoyed it.
when I looked up the syn value, I was quite surprised at how many syns it actually was (12.5) which ok is a lot but combine that with a day of free food and your HEB options etc and you can enjoy this naughty treat without feeling guilty. and as for the peanut butter, dont know the syn value but its not going to be huge and crumbs if we couldnt enjoy the odd naughty thing now and again then to be honest, what is the point of it all?

so in answer to your question, one should not feel at all disgusted with oneself but should instead be thinking, I had a treat today and it was lovely.
I can do that on SW. just need to make sure it isnt a treat every day just occasionally

You say your best intentions waivered by 11am and you gave into temptation - IMO, I can have a bag full of SW friendly food but put a plate of cakes in front of me, and my willpower goes out of the window. nothing beats the taste of something sweet whether it be a bar of chocolate or a cake (especially when you are at work and are perhaps feeling stressed or fed up)

sometimes I think it does you good to enjoy a treat because whose to say what would have happened had you not had a cake? would you have felt deprived and stopped off at the supermarket on the way home to make up for missing out ??
  • hi everyone, Im back after a week on holiday at Disneyland Paris. A week full of junk food and not very much SW, and put 2.5lbs on. But, knew that it would be a lot, and im surprised that it wasn't more. Thankfully DLP is very large which involved a LOT of walking!! Im pleased it wasn't a lot more, so right back on track for next week!

I think I lost a few pounds on the Tower of Terror!! (I didn't throw it up, but I think it scared it out of me!!!) :rotfl:
You're so very special, I wish I was special

Holidays are times when its ok to go off the plan, its very hard to stick to it in places like that! You have done well only to have gained that much, as long as you enjoyed yourselves.

  • Hey all

OK so I am going to make occasional tweaks and changes and add the very occasional bit of functionality to my spreadsheet and may look at other useful sheets n other stuff. - I am currently playing around with an addition to the diary as we speak.

Would any of you be interested in being kept informed of developments and have the chance to download the latest versions ? I am going to keep a copy of all versions so you can always go back. I'm also, and if there was previously any doubt that I was an anal, saddo anorak these should now be dispelled, going to go with version numbers like software companies do to identify different versions (Oh my I'm reheallly sad aren't I :o:o).

If you're interested just drop me a pm with "Subscribe" (minus quotation marks) in the subject line and let me have an email address and I will create a group in my gmail and will then just send one e-mail with any updates/news that will go to everyone in that group (distribution list if you like)

Sad, Sad, Sad - get a life Judderbloke !!!
