I weigh in at 12pm, my group usually runs late, so I make sure Ive had a piece of fruit before going in and I take a sandwich with me and eat it after ive been weighed. I think because its during the day i tend to stick to the plan. My last group was a 6.30 one so when I got home I would have whatever I felt like, but I usually counted any syns and made it up during the week.

As for xmas - im hoping to be at target by then (hopes and wishes) but im going to enjoy myself and relax for the day. I was planning and taking the sausage, bacon stuffing ball thingys from the SW mag to my mums so I can fill up on these, turkey and veg, then maybe have my roasters as HEB, BUT im going to eat whatever I fancy for starter and pud (usually pate then cheesecake or trifle) and I plan to have a few glasses of wine and a couple of Baileys. I was pregnant 2 out of the last 3 christmases and the driver the other time, so im going to let my hair down.

I dont have a huge social calender during Dec so I wont be doing much damage throughout the month.

    So

Do you weigh in and then go home and munch munch munch or do you still stick to the plan? Whats your typical post weigh in meal? I dont get in tilll about 8.15pm on weigh in night so whatever I eat, it has to be very quick to do or something easy that my OH can chuck in the oven for me so that its ready when I get in.

Also whilst we are on the subject, how do you cope with weekends? These are always my downfall despite my best intentions. Do you save up some syns so you can have a treat ?

I would also be interested on how you are planning on coping with xmas? I am determined to be a bit more restrained this year (this will be my second xmas on SW) particularly as I dont want to lose the weigh Ive put on recently over the next few weeks only to put it all back on again and more! over xmas!

    sorry for so many questions!!!

I have just written a huge reply and lost it.

    gutted.

The essence of it was this:

After weigh in I like to plan a treat meal (as in, a favourite meal) it might use a favourite ingredient, or take a bit more planning, or cost a tad more than usual - occasionally it will need a splash of wine or oil, but largely my post WI meal is on plan.

Tonight for example, I am having steak and chips (B) with a rocket and parmesan (A) salad. :D

Over the past few weeks, we have had kofte tagine (R), vegi lasagne (G), roast duck breasts (R) and homemade faggots (R).

As for Christmas, I have to show restraint - it is that or all out indulgence - there is no half way for me :o . Christmas is only one day, and around the day, I plan lovely meals that are 100% on plan. I spent last year on WW christmas and gained 0.5lb - same again would be grand :D .

The whole festive period will probably be red for me. Christmas eve we always have Baked Sea Bream (fish) and potatoes, so that fits nicely, and Boxing day is roast ham...

Christmas day will go something like this: I will allow myself an extra B and maybe up to about 20/30 syns for the day. Lunch will be smoked salmon starter, roast beef main, with potatoes and parsnips (2xB) syns in yorkie and gravy. Cheese for afters (2xA), small piece of hm xmas pud. of course...red wine :D (half bottle = 12 syns).
By the evening, I rarely fancy much, so will probably either have some smoked salmon and bread (thats the other B) or a cold roast beef sarnie... yum!

The house is never full of sweets/chocs/biscuits - DD is type 1 diabetic, and whilst she can eat these things, it is easier for her (and us) if they just aren't available. Instead I fill bowls with pears, satsumas, grapes and bananas, and everyone seems fine grazing on them.

With anything, it is about working out what your priorities are, and planning to let you have them. Personally, I feel rather ill, bloated and uncomfortable if I lose control food wise, so I am better to plan indulgent, but sensible food, allowing me to have my favourites and some treats. Others will want more 'freedom', and will commit to getting back on plan afterwards. For me, I know the weight comes on very easily, but takes so much hard work to lose it again - I'd rather not gain it in the first place..... and anyway, maybe Christmas is about stuff *other* than food......

just a quick query to throw into the mix. During the warmer weather I did not have any problems upping my fluid intake, I could down sugar free squash, diet coke/lemonade etc. and even plain old water, but now that it's so blinkin' cold I'm struggling and I think it's probably contributing to the slow down in my weight loss. I use 1 of my milk allowances up on my cereal ( summer months I found fruit and yoghurt enough for brekkie but not now) and the other for tea/coffee throughout the day. I like to save my syns, as much as possible for 'extra foody treats' and I find that drinking lots of cold drinks, which I don't fancy anyway, make me feel cold, if you see what I mean. I don't like black tea/coffee so thats out and the herbal/fruit teas aren't .......................my cup of tea, so I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions. Oooo just had a thought myself I could try sugar free blackcurrant squash made with warm water ( rushes off to kitchen to give it a whirl!) Anyone got any other ideas?
