Hi, i've been reading this forum for ages now (up to page 402 and counting!), and i'd love to join you if that's ok? I started SW at the beginning of October and lost 13 lbs in the first 4 weeks, but due to a sudden change in my finances, i'm unable to justify the cost of attending class for a while :(. I have to say that the support and advice you guys give each other is inspirational!

    Jx
I go to class and usually remember to ask for the password .lol there is great advise on the sw website.
Also the support on this forum is great....
think this thread will be my saviour this week.....
I tried to send you a private message to tell you that but it says you dont receive Private messages.
And you are not allowed to post the password on here.

You will be fine, just give it a couple of hours to clot properly then only have soft stuff today. You will be ok I imagine as long as you have nothing sharp (crisps, crusty bread etc.).
I had an extraction last year and that what i did. You are supposed to take it easy for the rest of today also to give it time to heal properly.

Poor Lamb, my heart goes out to you its awful having teeth pulled. :( At least you should have a good result weight loss this week if you cant eat! :)

Thanks Kandi. It wasn't that bad to be honest. I have since eaten 2 X Alpen Light (got my sticky mits on the Choc n fudge ones mmmmm they are nice) was careful to only chew on left side of my mouth and try not to let any bits get over to the right, just done a batchelors rice thingy which I'm gonna let go fairly cool (says on all the web hits I found not to eat anything hot for 4 hours) and thinking of making BB lasagne and chips for later... I may change that plabn though and go for beans, eggs n mushrooms ...ooh could have pasta of some sort with that or even spuds couldn't I.

So back to dental experience , sorry to go off topic a tad, I'll paste in here what I shared ina nother forum re my experience:

It wasnae that bad in fairness - she gave me one injection and it only went a little bit numb ... sooo she gave me another one and injected quite a lot of anaesthetic... this time went pretty numb. She then started prodding the tooth concerned with one of those sharp hook like things and asked if I could feel anything - I could but just , as she rightly put it, just pressure not pain... how ever when she moved to the side it did hurt JUST A LITTLE[ so she used a different type of anaesthetic and added a third dosage :rotfl::rotfl: - weird gizmo she used for that - at one point it made a clicking noise and when she was talking to her assistant she said something about a charge (as in explosive not paying for something) so this clearly fires the anaesthetic into you :rotfl::rotfl:

So then she got the tooth and it was out in seconds in one go - very easily came out (unlike the last extraction I had) - so all in all not at all bad really and no pain as yet.

Have to say she is pretty good with the needles too - some slight discomfort but no pain :T:T

    HI All

Does anyone have any recommendations for low syn snacks? I'm a fan of crisps but haven't had any for 2 weeks.

Also what are everyone's favourite low syn sweet stuff? I've not yet been able to get my hands on fudge alpen lights and they sound good. Sometimes though, only chocolate will do and I'm not sure what to get for those days. Any suggestions?

For Crisps there are many options around the 4-5 /6 syn mark - I tend to go for French Fries or Walkers baked crisps

Sweet stuff ...hmmm well the SW Hifi Bars are either He b or 5.5 syns and you can get your choc fix with my former fave - choc n orange - thoough my fave now is the new (ish) Lemon one.

A real low syn option (non choc) are the Sainsbury no added suagr marshmallows - just one syn for ..... four yummy

  • Hello all :hello:

Yesterday I did fine until the evening. Takeaway pizza and 2 white bread cheese sarnies.....Bum! I feel so bad about it.

So back on track today. So far I've had beans, egg and quorn sausages for brekkie, millions of yogurts, 2 alpen lights and a bag of ryvita minis. Thiknig about dinner and will probably have pasta and make a tomato sauce. Still having my 2 glasses of wine though ;)

rob - if its not too late then yes you can have normal garden peas instead of mushy. They're free on green but a HEb on red.

Sugar free jelly is always a good snack.

Noooooooo! I can't. I'm already halfway through the first glass!

BTW I'm still getting to grips with your spreadsheet, but can tell it'll be really useful once I learn how to use it properly. Thanks
