Well I had my weigh in last night, and I can report a gain of 2lbs. Oh well, I knew there would be a gain, not been good all week! Naughty me! But I am back on track today, been really good so far, went into town today and was not tmpted at all by any snacks or chocolate! Even though I have had a s****y day so far!

SCW1 - sounds like a great start! It's all about re-educating yourself, so by learning to like breakfast you are already turning things around.:j
You will probably find that some breakfast makes you less hungry later on and then you won't be tempted to grab something!;)
We're all of us, overweight because of eating too much of the wrong things and not doing enough exercise to burn it off. But we CAN get rid of it again and learn new ways of cooking food, choosing healthier things etc. It isn't even that hard when you get your head around it and eliminate all your old habits. The people on here are SO inspiring and helpful that we need never be stuck for ideas or support.
I hope I don't get shouted down here but I have met so many people who reckon that they CAN'T lose weight but they go into it very half-heartedly. We HAVE to make some changes in order to lose weight and it seems to take a long time for some perople to accept that they just CANNOT eat what they like, when they like. If it was that easy they would never have put on weight in the first place!;)
Did you see the SW Woman of the Year? She's on the SW site. She was in the 20 stones and looked amazing on TV last night. I also have a friend who has lot 6.5 stones in 16 months.
Best of luck!0 -
I cant help it i dont really like cereal so not sure what i can have in the morning apart from toast.
and for dinner we always have cooked meat in
One of our group members had made some quiche for us and it was gorgeous!!!

Steph, you can still have meat for dinner on a green day - it just needs to be weighed! But then you can have lots of veg (there is more free veg on green than red!) or pasta with your meat chopped in it? One of my fave meals is a packet of Savoury Rice with a grilled chicken breast. YUMMY!
how about scrambled eggs and baked beans/tinned spaghetti for brekkie? (green)?
Or Bacon and egg/mushrooms (red)?
Poached egg on toast (half your Heb of bread - the other half can be one sarnie with a salad/mugshot)?
Fruit salad topped with natural yoghurt or a Mullerlight (free on both)
Or a full cooked breakfast on red (bacon, free pork or Quorn sausages, grilled toms, baked beans! :T

A few more questions - the leader mentioned something about a cornbeef quiche any ideas of a recipe?
Also do you know which batchelors pasta and sauce are free and which of the supernoodles?
Thank you x0 -
scw - cornbeef *used* to be free on original days, but is not free now - you have to syn it..... there are still people in my class who make it, but corned beef is high in fat (I have never found a lower fat version, but I understand there is one somewhere!). Essentially it is the standard SW quiche (eggs cottage cheese, veg) but put over slices of corned beef to create the 'base'.
You could make a lovely (truly) syn free quiche on a red day lining your tin with ham, then pouring the eggs/cheese mixture. I would add veg in too
steph - I can't stomach cereal either... nowdays I either have a large yogurt (muller, aldi optifit, 0% greek for a treat) or lots of fruit (melon, bananas and berries are nice in the morning) - sometimes both! On a weekend I might have eggs etc, but fruit sets me up well enough.0 -

Corned Beef Quiche (4 syns on Red Plan)
200g tin extra lean corned beef (4 syns),
Onion,
Red pepper,
Salt & pepper,
3 eggs,
Very low fat natural cottage cheese,
Sliced tomatoes for top (optional)
Chop or mash down the corned beef. Cook the onion and pepper in Frylight until softened.
Layer the meat, cottage cheese and onion/pepper mix into a quiche dish.
Whisk the eggs and pour over the top. Cook in the centre of a medium oven until set and golden on top (about 40 mins).
The Pasta n Sauces are all free except for Macaroni Cheese; Cheese, Ham & Leek and one other which I can't remember (it may be the Bolognese but I might be wrong on this). Supernoodles have to be the 98% fat free ones to be syn-free.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

MY mum has lost a pound and a half yay her!
Also for a pizza base you can use a WM baguette which would be a healthy B choice (we just had some)
Baguette mustn't weigh more than 57gms to count as one HEB of course.
Well done on the weight loss, but you really ought to only get weighed once a week or you won't get a true reflection on how you're doing.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
