Hi all!
Have found a nice idea in the Tesco's free mag, among all their Christmas recipes. They made something v like a SW 'quiche' but in a ring mould, and then filled the centre with veg and bits. It'd be really easy to adapt, and fill with roasted veg or SW chips, or stir-fry. It just looked so nice, and presentation is everything.
I find a lot of their recipes are easy to adapt, and it's often just a case of dry-frying with Frylight rather than frying in oil, and not using flour etc to thicken sauces.0 -
Does Low fat cheese spread (like philly light) is that syn free or not? (I like to make chicken stuffed with philly light and wrapped in parma ham or low fat bacon).
Ta
We (on SW) use 'Quark' for this. Its free and takes on a flavour of whatever you put into it if left overnight. I make garlic quark and then stuff this in chicken. Don't forget to take the rind/fat off the bacon.

Woo hoo! Thanks for that fluffynit :T
I shall check out the Tesco price, it will probably be cheaper after the introductory price at Waitrose runs out.
I looked in my 'how to freeze' book, and they said don't freeze cottage cheese (goes watery and chewy _pale_ ) and also that you shouldn't freeze any cream cheese under 40% fat as it goes grainy. Honestly is 2% fat.
Not looking so good on the freezing front then. Don't think I shall bother
However what I will experiment with (at some point! ) is putting 'ordinary' cottage cheese in a processor and seeing if it goes smooth, creamy and tasty like this one - it would be much cheaper if it does!0 -
I have seen a few people rave about the smooth cottage cheese on minimins but I don't shop in tesco or waitrose so don't think I will get the chance to try it.
I am on a green day today and had omellette for breakfast( used milk from HE(Shall try not to have any more eggs for a few days as I have had 6 eggs since yesterday morning)) and some wholemeal bread (HEB)
Then my dinner was hugeeeee, had jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad (lettuce, onion, cucumber, cherry tomato's and grated carrot) and some fresh chopped pineapple with a muller light yoghurt and a litre of water.:D:D
Brought everything to college with me except the jacket spud and the woman in the canteen looked at me funny asking for a jacket spud no filling no flora please.
For tea I am having jacket potato with quark, spring onion, garlic and spinach mixed in, with a small pork loin chop ( fat removed, having this as a healthy extra because I don't really like crispbreads or cereals much and bread is my downfall so trying to limit my intake) and some mushrooms cooked with garlic, is soy sauce syn free? as if it is i may add some to the mushrooms.
Does this sound ok?You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

Hi everyone well i joined SW on Thursday but only started the diet yesterday.
Im finding it really hard on knowing what i can and shouldn't eat
yesterday i had
Breakfast
2 slices of wholemeal toast with thinly spread low fat butter and a shape yoghurt
Dinner
1 wafer thin chicken and salad sandwich with salad
Snack
1 apple, 1 pear and 1 banana
Tea
Bacon with fry light chips and weight watchers beans
that was it.
But by the end of the night i was hungry but didn't fancy any more fruit or yoghurt. What else could i have apart from that?
Many thanks

Hi Steph and welcome. :T
What kind of day were you following, was it red or green etc?
You did pretty well for your first day, But for dinner if you were having a red day you could of had eggs with your bacon and morrissons eat smart sausages (free on a red day) But if you were following green the you cold of had eggs again with your chips and beans, or quorn chilli (free on both)
I usually try and have an omlette for brekkie so im not using 1 of my HEB (healthy extrabut i do sometimes have porridge or toast, I also buy WW brown danish as you can have 3 slices of that for 1 healthy extra B.
It will take you a few days to really get the hang of it, I highly recommend getting the SW mag and going onto the website as there as loads of recipe ideas and in the mag there is a 7 day plan that can get you on track.
I hope this made sense, im sure someone more knowlegble will come along soon and can help you more.
