I don't know if anyone here would be interested but we have a group on the DFW thread also for support of SW members or anyone wanting to loose weight really. I have devised an online spreadsheet to track everyones progress from this week. This is what it looks like

    SWSpreadsheet

If it would help people I could add you to the list and update any progress made. You would need to PM me your target and any losses/gains/maintains weekly:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Consultant31 - No, I'm definitely not in your group!;) You'll be pleased to know!!:rotfl: Your posts are brilliant and SO helpful and just the way you talk I know 100% your are not my consultant.

I can't flip back and reply to individual people (or I'll lose all this lot) but I personally think SW is very good value, it's a great way of eating, it works and its healthy. :j When I said some people stop going because they feel it's a waste of money to just weigh in and leave, that's up to them. I have always stayed because I USED to find it very beneficial. Taster nights are good and I always make a couple of dishes and love trying others. I am sometimes disappointed though that some people don't bring anything to try, ever. I also wonder if some people miss the point of eating healthily (which is what SW encourages) because more than one person has said "if it's not in a packet or tin, I don't want to know". Now, I realise we're all different, but I think we all have to TRY a bit!

Someone mentioned the raffle etc and I have to agree with that. I never buy one, but I always take a piece of fruit for the Slimmer of the Week.

    I lost 1.5 lbs last night BTW!:j

I meant to say, what other things go on in SW classes? Do any groups swap clothes etc?

Our format for after weigh-in is giving out the password and doing a small theme around that word. Then we go around all the people who have stayed behind and that can be a bit boring but I understand why. Then we do the raffle and awards and that's about it. If it's a taster night, it's more enjoyable.:j
  • im not sure how many people sign in to our group, i think its over 25, and usually a minimum of 10 who stay, were quite a close group and have such a laugh but it is better when more people stay

we have weigh in, then image therapy but it takes us so long to get round everyone, we weigh at 10am and dont get out of the hall until 12, lol

members sometimes bring in food to try and recipes etc, but we dont tend to do much else

some of us feel a bit cheeky suggesting things as our leaders been doing it for years and has a few groups other than us

I would just like to attend a smaller class. My consultant has three groups one after the other and 50/60+ people at each class so she's got no time for anyone. (Think I said that already but I'm having one of those days!)

id deffo look for a smaller class, like i said in a previous post my friend didnt even get spoken to by her consultant until she had reached the 4 stone mark, simply because she couldnt get thru everyone in class.
you can go to any class you like once your a member so id start looking and dont feel you owe it to your consultant to stay, from what youve said she has more than enough members to be going on with.

  • Hi
New to SW this week, have done ok through the week although I keep getting myself in a right state about what I am going to eat.

Tonight though I am going for a curry with friends.
Looking in my book, I can have a lamg rogan josh for 6.5 syns, it doesn't say anything about chicken, would that be the same?
Also could I have a seekh kebab if they have done it on the coals and not fried it as that would be just meat wouldn't it.
    Also I haven't had any b choices, could I have a chapati.

I know my first week and already having a curry but am trying to do it as syns but am stuck, I need to get ready to go but I am too busy thinking about what to eat. I like my curry with sauce.

    Thanks
    Jules

    Hi guys

Need some advice and reassurance I think. I've been going to my group since January and I've got to stop going because of changes in my working situation. But I'm really nervous about telling my leader! It's daft really - I never stay for the group as I find it intimidating and feel like I don't fit in that well because I'm quite a lot younger than the others. Silly, I know, but I got annoyed with all the comments about my being a student etc etc and assumptions that I don't know how to cook etc. But I've kept going to be weighed as my motivation was +++ and I've lot over 4 stone. I'm thinking I might just leave and not bother to move to another group, but I know that's a bad idea... I've already put a couple of pounds on this week after missing last week.

Hmm... I guess what I'm asking is... has anyone had experience of moving groups and how easy it is? I'd like to keep my record as it motivates me just looking at the tumbling numbers.
