I have weighed in tonight and lost another 4 and a half pounds, making 1 stone 12 pounds in the five weeks I have been on Slimming World.
So I am more than delighted with that and it's been worth every single penny spent.
I have to confess, I do have good accurate scales at home and and I do weigh myself mid week sometimes. I know you shouldn't, but it helps me. I don't see it as the be all and all end all, only a guide. If I'm doing well...it helps me to carry on doing well. If I'm not - well, I don't panic, I just pay more attention to what I'm doing. So it works for me either way.0 -

:T:T:T well done you - that is stunning progress :T:T:T joking aside how do you manage such dramatic loss ?
I have not been good this week - so I'll be surprised if I do as well as a maintain on Thursday night:o

Thanks Judderman. Yes it's very good, I'm really pleased.
I think the reasons are severalfold:
1) I've rigidly stuck to the plan. I somehow lost my desire for chocolate and suchlike overnight, the idea of it makes me feel a bit sick now.
2) I have a lot to lose...I don't mind confirming that I started this at just over 20 stone. So I still have some way to go. And I know the losses will slow down soon.
3) I used to eat appallingly, so it's been a sudden and dramatic switch.
4) I make good use of free food, especially vegetables and cottage cheese! I eat loads and loads of veg.
5) I have also given up meat. I use Quorn instead of meat now. So all my days are green.
6) I drink plenty of water. Not coffee, not even sugar free lemonade (I do drink those, just not much), just loads of water.
The best bit about SW, and the reason it's the only diet I would ever have tried, is that I still eat just as much as I always did - which is loads - I just ensure it's the right food now. No other diet really allows that to the same extent.
I don't find it difficult sticking to the plan, since I actually what I am eating now far more than what I was eating before. It would actually be quite unpleasant to go back to how I used to be.0 -
Well done, dux001!
I've got a STS to report this morning. I do feel thinner though, if that counts LOL. So I have 10 weeks to Christmas and 5lbs to my mini target, but I have hit the half pound off here and there stage, so I'll have to see how it goes.0 -
2cats1kid - even though I've barely lost 3lbs since my holiday in August I feel thinner too - the jeans I bought on holiday were 'wearable' but stupidly tight are now loose! Can't work it out as I'm struggling for time for exercise now but hey I'm not complaining!
100% green day today (if I say it often enough....) Hmmm, fried eggs and baked beans! :j0 -
one of the recipes in the new SW mag is for lamb shanks. where can I buy lambs shanks ? is it something my local butcher does? whenever ive looked online with Mr T, they have always been pre-prepared in some kind of sauce or are frozen with a sauce and therefore have to be synned.
Hi Iceland do just plain lamb shanks.think they are about 5.00 for 2.in the fresh chillers
Also most butchers will have them
They are lovely:D0 -

Hi All,Aldi do a lovely lamb shank free on red - it is the one in Tagine sauce, not the minted one, 2 in pack, can microwave .
Has anyone tried celeraic,(the ugly veg) free on both days, I made sw chips
cut into chips, boil 3 mins, fry light in oven 20 mins.Done this way you can have steak & chips on a red day.0 -
Hi
I am doing slimming world at home having lost weight a couple of years ago using SW (now its back on plus a couple of extra stone ). I was wondering if anyone had advice on eating out, I remember at a meeting when i used to go a lady saying that you can still go out and eat at Indian restrauts by ordering sensibly depending on whether you are on a green or red day. Is there anything I can order that wont make my syns for the week disappear in one night?
Thanks in advance

scrubbersue - your syns will disappear in 1 night with any restaurants or takeaway! The new thing is 'flexible' syns. You give yourself a set target (much higher than normal) say 60. You keep count all night and try not to exceed the target you set. Then the next day carry on with 5 - 15 as normal.
Green - go veggie curry (dry) with lots of boiled rice
