  • Hi, this is my first post so if I've done anything wrong I appologise now!
I've been following the slimming world plan, all green days for a week now and was excited this morning to get weighed. I only lost half a pound! Should I carry on and put this down as a possitive or totally give up?
I've enjoyed the food I've eaten and my family have too but when I read the stories in my recipe books about people losing loads in their first week I'm more than a little disappointed.
    Any advice would be appreciated,
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
I found the red plan always worked better for me, unsure why..maybe swap some days and see.
    Any loss is good :D
Sometimes it could be due to water/star week etc
when is your weigh in day? as its alwys best to weigh once a week
hope you get more replies and good luck:D
  • Hi,
Some 6 years ago i lost 4 stone with slimming world:eek:

Now i have used my own diet mainly based on sw
I have lost 2 stone. still need to loose about 3 stone
Have been following the 10,000 steps a day exercise too as
recent injury and a year of weak back meant i was stuck at home, hence weight gain aswell as a bf who shifts was til 10pm which meant we did not eat til midnight.. so
basically i was doin everything wrong..

Now i have lost 2 stone in 7 months plus lost my bf lol
but thats another story.. so im on the up!

I have a very hectic life and going to a club is not an option due to my caring respsibilites and the fact my area only has one meet which is tues evening.. worst time of day for me

My son who is 11 and has Austism is overweight as he became obessed with food.. i try keep healthy snacks and stop him over-eating but at same time didnt want him to be too focussed on dieting as he is a child..

So drastic times call for desperate messaures..

Im a chef so can contribute to any meal ideas etc but due to lack of a group im asking for help here.

    So today im joining here...
    any help greatly appreciated
    :D

Some people actually put on weight after their first week following SW so a half pound loss is fab. If you had all green days then did you ensure you drank plenty of water. If you are eating lots of pasta, potatoes etc then your body needs more fluid to help digest it etc.

Although it is disapointing just to lose half a pound, you are taking steps in the right direction and you should look at your weight loss over the month not just an individual week. did you complete a food diary? if you did, when you go next week, your consultant will have looked at this and made any comments. If you have any questions before your next weigh in, you can either phone your consultant or ask on here but please dont give up after just one week. Everyone is different and things like star week, what clothes you wore to weigh in can all have an affect. I have some trousers that weigh at least half a pound

    Half a pound a week is 26lbs a year - that's nearly 2 stone. Better than putting on 0.5lbs a week! :j

Pray for me - WI tonight after another week semi-off plan and a weekend away but tomorrow is the start of a 100% SW week. GRRRRRR!

Hi to slim2b, and bargainbunny: you are both very welcome here.

I don't always post as much as I'd like, but just reading everyone's comments and feelings makes such a difference when you feel like it's too hard to keep going.
