ive stopped going to weigh ins. which is silly but i really dont get on with them. its hard enough explaining to myself why ive put on weight etc without feeling scared of others knowing. my group was so lovely, but i put on a few weeks back and i just cant face going back.

My scales at home say ive reached the 2 stone mark. But i feel fatter than ever and my eating disorder is forever on the verge of kicking back in. 2 stone is so much to have lost but i cant stop hating myself for getting so big that i now have 3 stone more to loose to get back to normal. I was 10 stone and happy last year, after loosing 4 stone, and yet somehow i was 15 again and my task this time is to loose a third of my body weight, and i just dont feel when i look in the mirror as if im getting anywhere.

Because of how tall i am, ive lost 2 stone but only one dress size. In the magazine this month the cover woman lost 2 and a half stone and 3 sizes, and im just jealous because i wish 2 stone meant more sizes to me. I spose being a 16 for the first time since last christmas is nice, but im only just a 16 and i know a weekend of eating food i enjoy could send me back to an 18 so easily.

Sorry for the rant. I moved to wales to live with my boyfriend after uni recently, well August, and still have no friends so i feel really isolated and have no one to talk to. There was no one younger in my group and i couldnt face talking about the trouble of slimming and feeding kids anymore. Im a moany so and so basically.

Try a different class! From my personal experience, all classes are not the same - just like pubs, clubs, offices, etc.,there is usually a distinct 'tone' to a place so keep trying different classes til you find the one for you.Give each one a fair shot though,no disappearing after only one visit. Also,if your leader made you feel in any way inferior then she shouldn't be a consultant!

May I ask why you're lonely?Where is your boyfriend?Do you work,or have kids,or study,or all three?! Time to stop hating yourself,it won't solve anything, only make it worse. So you gained weight? So you lost it?So gained it again?Soooooooooo you'll lose it again!!!!!You are certainly not the only yo-yoer on here,or the planet, that's for sure.I hate it when women beat themselves up for being human!I have never met a truly perfect human being and if I did I think I would run screaming in the opposite direction, probably out of boredom!

I recently spotted a really good signature tagline which stated something along the lines of 'the only people who never fail are the ones are never try'.Very true,IMO.PLEASE TRY AND LIKE YOURSELF JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE.....there are soooooo many people in this world who deserve your contempt, and I don't believe you are one of them. And I mean that sincerely;) :rotfl:

    (sorry,couldn't resist....:D )

    Big hug Insincere.

I wore a size 16 top for the first time today, but spent most of the day trying to hide my spare tyre  Might be a while until I wear it again!

I lost 3.5stone with SW 6 years ago, but allowed myself to put on 5.5stone when I stopped. I too hate myself for getting so big, and although I've just hit the 2.5stone loss target now its taking me forever, and I don't have the same motivation as I did before.

It doesn't help both my OH and my Mum are on my back about my weight, and until I lose another 3 stone OH won't propose, have kids with me or let us buy a house together (renting at the mo) so we're in limbo. Mum phoned at lunch to ask why he hasn't put a ring on my finger (we've only been together two years last saturday but we're getting older and time for kids is running out) and warned me not to leave it too late to try concieving. Trouble is, by the time I lose weight, get engaged/married etc etc then try for kids I'll be well over 35 so things aren't looking good anyway. Basically it all makes me upset and sad and down and hurt and to solve that - I want to eat!! So I know where you're coming from. I do go to WI every week but that just demoralises me when I gain after a good week and lose after a week off plan  OH doesn't understand me when I say its making me truly truly miserable. He can't see why it should be so hard. Ok, tears now, BRB but hugs to you. We're the same methinks. xxxxxxx
  • Catt,I've pmed you and to say I'm furious on your behalf is an understatement....I just hope you'll still be talking to me afterwards.

I think its the worst thing anyone can do to say "I'll do so and so when you've lost weight". It puts pressure on you and I know that I, myself, would just fail straight away. You need to lose weight for yourself and not for anyone else. You need positive encouragement, which is what everyone on here gives.

That gives me an idea - if only we all lived near each other we could have our own very positive and friendly group! I would certainly go along to that!!!

    Hi everyone,

Hugs to insincere and skint-catt x

I've been goign to SW since feb and have 5 more pound to go to get to my target (after 3st loss) but am struggling more now than in the beginning.. :( but think it's as i'm picking up a biscuit etc now and again.. Is it hard to keep it off once you've reached target and is the secret to keep going to class?

I've just made my tea and had tesco's chunky cooked chicken on top of rice and veg but looking on SW online it says the chicken is 9.5 syns!!

I was hoping it was my HEB as i'd weighed my chicken.. can I count 7 of those syns as a HEB?
  • I have done this with breadcrumbed fish before now, allowing 6 syns as the HE and counting the rest.

    (1 HEB = 6 syns)

huge hugs to skint-catt and also to insincere :grouphug:

all I will say on the subject is that I am doing SW for me, no one else, not my oh nor even the cat. If my oh had anything to say on the subject, he would be put firmly in his place.

to insincere, the biggest challlenge of SW (i find) is going back to class and getting back on the plan when I have fallen of the wagon. There is an appropriate poem we were given at class back along and when I find it, I will post it.
