is rice pudding rice free? as in the rice you can make rice pudding from scratch with?

Rice is free on green. Here are some syn-free recipes:-

    Rice Pudding

    4oz of pudding rice
    1½ pints of skimmed milk
    7/8 tablespoons of sweetener
pinch of nutmeg and /or cinnamon

Put everything into a slow cooker and stir together (add more sweetener later if needed).
Cook on low (or in a low oven) for at least a couple of hours.
Syn free on Green if using the milk is as 2 healthy extra a choices.
    ======================================================
    Quick Rice Pudding

Put about 1 and a half oz of pudding rice in a big bowl, cover generously with boiling water and microwave it until cooked and very stodgy (about 15 mins, add more water as necessary). Leave it to cool a bit and then stir in a strawberry Muller Light.

I let my mind wander and it never came back!

  • Hi all,

    Im new to this thread.

Been on SW for over a year, but have only recently been taking it seriously and have lost nearly 2 stone. Im loving it, but been having a bit of a struggle the past couple of weeks and need to get myself back on track.

    1) thank you K66 for pm.

    2) I like the look of the skimmed milk rice pud. I got a free Candia long life skimmed milk (voucher from Freebies board) the other day, and its sitting there in the cupboard asking to be used. I'd actually not thought of using TWO lots of milk as HEAs .
    Thank you!

I have some questions for all the Slimming World long-timers! What do you do at Christmas? Do you give up the diet and eat all the Christmas food or do you just do it SW style? Have you got any yummy Christmas recipes?

Also, I was thinking of buying the Festive and Fun recipe book. Can anyone recommend it?

bachbeth - I just go carefully. I have a bit of everything I fancy, but stop at eating a whole box of choccies like I used to! I try not to start too early either! Its easy to start opening chocs and nice things the week (or month) before xmas, but I try and limit it to Xmas Eve to Boxing Day

sea shel - if you like curry the recipe for baked bean tikka masala I posted a few pages back was fab (with pasta especially!) and enough to feed 6!

  • Hi Flat Eric,
I take cous cous to work and pour over tesco's ratatoullie (not sure how to spell it), which is quick and tasty.
Also take S/World quiche with onion and mushrooms in it, very useful if I cant decide whether to have a red or green day, and have it with loads of salad. I have a toaster in work and enjoy spaghetti hoops on whoemeal toast. Hope that helps a bit?
