Hi Skint_Catt,
according to directory all varieties for 175g pot are 1.5 syns, so not too bad. I done the exact same thing when I first started SW lol.
Cheers

Hi everybody, I hope you all had a good weekend. I've managed to , pretty much, stick to my 'back to basics' plan so far. I did have a bit of a hiccup when the toffee cheesecake proved just too tempting to resist, but other than that, i'm feeling rather positive about it all at the moment, just hope the scales will smile on me on thursday! Having said that I did have a look at my predicted date to reach my first target on the SW website which scared me as it said next june . I sincerely hope I can reach it way before then! i realise that the less you have to lose the harder it gets but surely it won't take 8 months to lose 1 st 4 lbs! anyway keep smiling everyone ( It burns calories you know:rotfl:)When Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0

I'm so annoyed at myself for well and truly falling off the waggon the entire weekend, from all day friday to all day Sunday. Completely emotional eating(MEN!! Better off without them!) and so annoyed with myself that I slipped into that. Emotionally eating to that extent doesn't happen very often for me and I really didn't see that binge coming - and of course, after the event it was SO not worth it! I do still "treat myself" to a bar of choccie over my syns allowance to cheer myself up when things aren't great for whatever reason, so I know I obviously still have an unhealthy relationship with food. Anybody got any ideas how I can pull myself out of that particular rut?
I have meal planned and shopped appropriately for the coming week and have some lovely meals to look forward to, but I think I need either something low syn or syn free to treat myself to or better still something to substitute in there instead of food!0 -
Im a bit confused today as Ive decided to do the Mix2Match.
For Original Breakfast I had: 3 slices low fat bacon with 2 scrambled eggs (free), plus 28g Kelloggs Special K Red berries with semi skimmed milk from HEA.
For green lunch Ive had: 300g New Covent Garden carrot and coriander soup (6 syns) with 2 slices of wholemeal bread. (I thought the bread would be free on green but on the online food diary it will only let me put it as a HEB)
For tea I am following an original recipe from a Slimming world cookbook for chicken in sweet and sour sauce. I wanted to have new potatoes as HEB for tea but the online food diary won't let me add it as a HEB.
I was thinking that I could have some new potatoes for lunch as it would be free but why not save these potatoes and have them with the chicken for tea - surely it works out the same?
DD2 is having the chicken with me but she will have a load of rice with hers. Im then trying to think about the chicken and mash potato for DD1 and can't decide what to do for hubby!
Its just making me feel like not bothering - I wish I only had to cook for myself!!!0 -
beachbeth - bread is never free only a HEb (57g). Can't comment on the rest as I've never tried mix2max! Far too confusing :rotfl:0

Ive realised I can add potatoes as a HEB. But Mix2match is confusing! Has anyone done it successfully?0

For Mix2Max to work, you need to keep a tally of your A's and B's. Sounds like you are doing well for a first try!
Toady you have had -
Breakfast - red - free food plus 1 HEB (cereal) and 1 HEA (milk)
Lunch - green - soup (syns) plus 1 HEB (bread)
Dinner - red - free food only, syns still available (as B's are used)
The trick to have your pots as B for tea would have been to save a B earlier in the day - maybe leaving the bread for lunch? Remember, if you want to use 6 syns, you still could have the pots with your tea....0 -
Well I'm a bit fed up as I've realised I made a mistake in my mix2max yesterday, and only realised when I was explaining mix2max to someone else and went - uh-oh! LOL. So rather than being economical with syns I went way over budget.
Trying to be good today, but my star week has started, I am water retaining like a bloater, and have just succumbed to a bag of crisps (they were calling to me). At 6.5 syns so far today, and hoping that's all I have, to compensate for making a mess of yesterday!
My Christmas target is looking a looooong way from a reality right now. I know when you don't have much to lose it's hard, but I'm looking at another STS at best this week I think.0 -

Sorry, I thought Id mentioned. I counted the Special K as 5 syns and not as a HEB, so I do still have HEB left. Ive been really busy today and so perhaps not the best day to start something complicated!
Also, I boiled some potatoes that I was going to have with beans for a green lunch and didn't realise they had boiled dry! So I had lovely black, burnt potatoes which I had to throw away!:o
So, as I had soup and the wholemeal bread for lunch and nothing else Im reverting back to a red day! So Im having the chicken for tea with HEB new potatoes. I'll try the mix2match tomorrow.
One question though - is rice only counted as a syn? Its not HEB or free on any day?0 -
plain rice of any variety is free on green (as a rule only dried, the microwavable ones mostly have syns and check any flavoured ones too, most of the batchelors dried ones are free for example)
... rice is not a healthy extra on red, not even brown rice because it doesn't have enough fibre. So fi you have rice on green its free, but on red its always synned.
I think people have mashed cauli with dishes they'd usually have rice with on red days, never tried it myself..?0
