    Well done, Angie!!!!:T :T :T :T :T :T :j :j :j :j

I wish I had that will power. A few years ago I would have done but I just couldn't do a really restrictive plan now. Normal red and green are all I can manage. You must have been so pleased with your loss!:A

Its all making me desperately unhappy so I have to go and try another diet for a few weeks. I'll still look in and say hi but I can't go on like this.

Sorry to hear you're having to try something else. I hope you can still keep your spirits up and come on here still. I think we all know how it feels when a diet isn't working for us. I have trouble sticking to any plan because I have depression to contend with too. Its frustrating when you do everything right and you're not losing as you think you should.
  • I lost six and a half pounds at my weigh in.

I am pleased with that. This means since I started Slimming World on Sept 6th I have lost 1 stone 3.5 lbs.

I still have a long way to go though...I wasn't just slightly overweight, I was the medical definition of obesity.
  • :T WOW! dux, that is great! :T You should be really pleased with yourself - You may have a long way to go, but you are certainly putting your best foot forward!:j

Well done, dux! I'm glad you have had a good loss this week after your disappointment last week. :)

I'm up early as DD is off on a school trip, and can report an honest 1lb loss this week. In one way I'm pleased, in another it feels like pulling teeth LOL (don't we all want the weight off NOW!). That leaves me 6lb before Christmas and another 7lb before my holiday. Actually I'd like another 10lb before my holiday, but I'm trying to be realistic here!

I have enough SW quiche in the fridge for 2 or 3 days worth of lunches. How do you reckon the pasta n sauce quiche would freeze? I find it pretty unpalatable stuff at the best of times (prefer the rice one, but had none in last night as Mr T comes tonight) and don't want to leave it totally inedible!

I may freeze one little bit, actually, just to see, and plan on eating the rest for the rest of the weeks lunches.

Hi, well done angie - thats such a fab loss and worth the week I'm guessing!
Thanks cosultant, but I'm trying to cut my portions down now - I don't syn during the day, its only when I get fed-up/upset in the evenings. I can even live syn free all week and gain/maintain/lose 0.5lb so eating all I want isn't working for me anymore.

Its all making me desperately unhappy so I have to go and try another diet for a few weeks. I'll still look in and say hi but I can't go on like this.

    Awww hun, don't give up.
I have not read the entire thread but how long have you been food optimising?
I have only been doing it for 4 weeks and I have not lost a huge amount but the slower it comes off the longer it will stay off.

Do you keep a food diary?
That may help to see where you are going wrong. By posting it on here we can all help.
Do you go to meetings or are you doing it alone?

Thanks. I've been doing it for 12months (second time around since 2002 originally) and lost 2.5stone. Its taken me 20 weeks to lose the last 7lbs, and I still have more than 3stone to go (but thats my first target). I've stuck to the plan 100% for 6 weeks and it's just notworking for me anymore, whether I eat as much as I want (free food!) or limit my portions and eat lots of superfree foods and the result is the same.
  • For Skint Catt :grouphug: :grouphug: It is horrible when this happens, especially as you want it so much. I will admit this isthe point I got to before I started FF, I was surprised, but in some ways the restriction was comforting. I planned, I ate. There was no negotiation on what I was having.

Where do you go from here? I know you probably need a change as much as anything, do you thing the points plan on WW would suit you for a bit, or has something else caught your eye?

:smileyheaTry not to get down, easy said I know, but do take care. You know we will support you whatever you decide.:grouphug:

Skint Catt, I feel for you. I don't know whether you've had a check up recently but it may be worth going to the doctor and explaining how you've been following the diet and haven't lost - if you still have three stone to go then I wonder if you might have something like a sluggish thyroid? It's really common as you get older, especially in women.

Angie loves veg, WELL DONE :T . Do you feel supper svelte now?

Well done, Dux!:T . You must be really pleased (can you lose some for me too?:o ).

On another note, I think we should all think ourselves lucky on here that we are trying to lose weight normally, whether we are succeeding or not. There's a 22 year old girl who lives near us (I used to work with her mum years ago) and she has anorexia. The minute you see her you know she is ill because she is wasting away and looks absolutely drained and pale. She is the eldest of a big family and I don't know the details but we have seen her cycling up and down our road. My daughter spotted her this morning going up and down. Its such a shame that we can't do anything (maybe she is already having treatment?). It makes you realise how lucky you are to be overweight and to have a "normal" relationship with food, no matter how dissatisfied we are with our bodies.
