well i havent been here for 4 weeks as i've been on hols and then last week my grandad died- i've put on half a stone:eek:
things are all up in the air at the moment as my grandad was my grandma's carer as she needs 24 hour care so i've been helping to look after her so not eating properly, just grabbing things when i can and have been the chippy loads, need to get this off again now so trying to do my best under the circumstances

I tend to stick mainly with gree as I love to fill up on pasta and rice. Tonight I made quorn bolgnese and it was delicious. I put 3 tins chopped tomatoes, cheapest going, 3tbsp tomato puree, 1 onion finely diced, mixed herbs basil and a bag of frozen quorn mince in a large pan. Had no garlic but would have used 2 cloves if I had. I then simmered this for about 1 hour could have also added mushrooms but like garlic I had none. After 1 hr this had thickened and served with spaghetti and 1oz grated cheese as also run out of parmesan, need a top up shop this week for bits and bobs. This was a really lovely meal and apart from cheese and puree it was free. Use lots of tomatoes as it gives it a great flavor, quorn can be boring, and let it reduce slowly to intensify the flavors.

Mr T delivered my shopping yesterday but I didnt realise that instead of delivering the EPC very lazy chillies which are superfree he delivered two substitutes which needs to be counted as syns. I have received tesco chopped chillies in brine and barts hot chillies in sunflower oil

The syns are going to be negotiable and hardly worth counting but if im sticking to the plan strictly then they are clearly hidden syns.

Im thinking of just giving them away but since Ive set myself a food budget for this month, its seems silly to buy the EPC Chillies when I have something that is just as good albeit there will be a few syns to count.

Im sorry if this sounds a tad trivial but i would be interested to hear your views.

Ive also noted the chicken and laughing cow triangle/bacon recipe. It sounds yummy but I would be interested to know how long to cook the chicken for in the oven? as I was thinking of having chicken for tomorrow.

one final note, I bought an aubergine - apart from roasting it with some other mixed veg, what could I do with it????

bringmeshoes- I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Looking after yourself is doubly important if you have to help look after someone else too, so please make sure you eat properly.

  • Hi everyone

I'm struggling for motivation a bit at the moment and wonder if you guys can help. I'm particularly stuck today because I'm eating all 3 meals at work! I have a microwave, toater, kettle, and a big tesco or sainsburys, and would quite like to try a red day as I don't do them often. I have had a yoghurt and have apples to keep me going until lunch, but I need ideas for both lunch and dinner please!!

just been to WI and lost 1lb:) thats 4lb total now!
    November NSD's - 7
  • Wow had my WI and for my first week lost 5 1/2 lb. I was so pleased I thought I might cry!
Forgot to ask for the password, although last week our consultant did say it would be valid for two weeks so perhaps I could just go on using last weeks one?
Well done to everyone who had losses and STS, hopefully this will not be just a flash in the pan for me and I can continue with a steady 1 1/2 - 2lb per week.
This thread has been so helpful for me as I haven't told anyone at work and feel I can share it on here!

naturally, you could have beans on toast for lunch at work, or scrambled eggs (all cooked in the microwave). Obviously, you would need healthy wholemeal bread and this would be a healthy extra. Or you could make a nice healthy veggie soup at home to heat up at work. I myself like a nice egg salad sandwich on wholemeal or chicken and salad if you are on a red day.

:mad:I'm sad to say the last 3 weigh ins I have gained as follows
    09/09 I did lose 1 1/2lb's
    16/09 1.5lb's
    23/09 0.5lb's
    30/09 0.5lb's
I have had a really good week this last week before WI, lots of healthy home made soups for lunch. But I have had mostly green days and been eating a lot of past/noodles/potatoes, I think because I suffer from PCOS I need to have more red days but find that meat is so expensive for decent stuff. Since I started SW in April my weight loss comes in peaks and troughs, sometimes I am a bit naughty and lose 21/2 lb's(the most I've ever lost, even more than 1st week), then others like last week I'm really good and put on. My sis suggested some gains could be due to "star week", but don't have "star week" as such coz of contrcaeptive pill taken.

Please, please can some one give me a shake, I actually burst in to tears when OH asked how I got on at WI, and sis jokingly said "you must be eating in secret" quite gutted that she would even suggest this even in jest.

Sorry for the rant just needed to get it off my chest and I am right back to plan.

Well done ALV, did you feel hungry when you done FF, if so how'd you cope? Well done everyone else too!:j
    Cheers
