Hi - lovely to meet you - great to hear you are back on track this week - what are you planning to do with the lentils?0 -
Well done to all those who have lost weight.
To those who have had gains and don't know why, I would say, remember the body is very complicated. You might not lose weight every single week, but the SW plan is basically little more than healthy eating, so firstly take heart that you are eating well. And secondly, take heart that overall you WILL lose weight. Just because you have a couple of little gains sometimes, that happens. Look at the bigger picture. I know it's horrid to have a gain, it's happened to me, but try to see the bigger picture and think of how much healthier you are.0 -

Can someone explain mixtomatch to me? I understand that you pick green or red for each meal, is that right? Do you still have the healthy extras and the syns? How do you calculate these if you are mixing your day with red and greens?
Mix to match means that you treat each meal as a red or green option.
so you could have a red breakfast
a green lunch
and a red tea
you still have the healthy extras as normal and your syn allowance. the idea is that "your snacks" are superfree i.e. foods that are free on both days such as for example, eggs, mullerlights, fruit etc and you base your individual meals on either a red or green meal as you fancy. this is a typical mix to match day for me: -
Breakfast (red)
bacon medalions
mushrooms
fried eggs
Lunch (green)
Jacket chips
fried eggs
85g Ham (HEB)
28g cheese (HEA)
Tea (red)
Roast pork
Baby potatoes (HEB)
Veg
or
Breakfast (neutral)
Hi fi bar
Lunch
Jacket potatoes
beans
cheese (HEA)
Tea
steak
roasted veg
jacket (HEB)
as for your syns, the syn value appropriate to your meal is the value that should be counted. for example, if you were having a green lunch and decided to have a tin of chilli (see below) then you would count it as 4 1/2 syns.
If you decided to have the chili as a snack mid afternoon then the syn value would be counted as 11.
does this help?

Hi All,
Thanks for the advice, info and comments. Last week I had mostly green days so this could be the problem there, I am going to try to get back to alternating days again as this does seem to work a lot better. I start my new job as of Monday so am going to go to class thats been highly recommended on Thursday morning so hopefully this will give me a boost of motivation.
Here's my food diary from yesterday. My syns were over but yesterday was not a typical day as I had cat to go to vet and then was in a rush to get back out.
Breakfast - 2 weetabix(HEb) with milk from HEa, cup of tea with sweetner and milk from HEa
Lunch - 4 boiled eggs(free) with 2 sliced toast(HEb), 1 tsp flora extra light(0.5syns), coffee, 1 Alpen light summer fruit cereal bar(3syns)
Snack - Apple(free)
Dinner - 2 quorn crispy fillets(7syns), 3.5oz Tesco steakhouse oven chips(2.5syns)
Snack - 1 choc finger(1.5syns), 2 Tesco rough oatcakes(4syns), 1oz Tesco Camambert Normandy cheese(4syns) and 2 wafer thin slices of cheddar don't know what syns to give this).
Total Syns = 22.5
I normally try to stay under 10 syns, but yesterday was not a typical day but I would much rather be honest as it won't do me any favours if I'm not.
Today is much more structured and am sticking to menu plan, so will post again tomorrow.
Thanks
