Weigh in tonight, here's hoping I did better than last week when I gained 1.5 llbs due to drinking water!
  • Evening!

Would anyone mind telling me how long they have been doing SW for, and how much they have lost so far?

    Hello there

first of all, you only have a birthday once a year so dont beat yourself up over how much you have eaten. :naughty: It sounds like you have made sensible choices and if you enjoyed it then whats the problem. If you had gone out for your birthday meal and had eaten a plain salad and bottled water, Im sure you would be feeling pretty miserable now and feeling rather deprived and would end up having a much worse binge! So there were a couple more functions? Slimming World is not a diet, its a heathly approach to eating for life. life is for living not for being miserable and eating salad leaves for the rest of your life! If you gain this week then dont feel too dishearted about it. The SW plan is there for us during those times when we have come back from hols etc and those few pounds have crept back on. here are my suggestions for you.

sit down and roughly plan your menu for the next week. Include some red / green days options (if you enjoy both) so you can pick whatever you fancy on the particular day. if you understand the success express plan (i dont!) then perhaps plan a couple of days of this (we have one member who has lost 7 stone -1 more stone to go and when she follows success express for a week combined with her exercise plan, she tends to have a good loss (the last little bit can be very stubborn to come off). Include plenty of superfree foods - have a re-read of your food op book. its easy to overlook stuff. I actually e-mailed slimming world magazine telling them that one of their recipes wasnt free as they suggested because it included fruit cocktail. I had overlooked the fact that you could have this as a HEB option. I got a very polite e-mail from them informing me! :embarasse

I also found out recently that you could have a 227g baked apple and 1 level tbsp of mincemeat as a HEB and i have been doing the plan almost a year so there is bound to be stuff that you have overlooked.

also check out the lifeline online site because the heathly extras get updated so there might be a new soup that takes your fancy.

they also have an extensive receipe collection include features called 10 ways with apples, potatoes etc. there might be something there that takes your fancy..

When you go to class on thursday, ask for a food diary. I find if Ive got to write it down, its less likely to go in my mouth.

As mentioned try to eat lots of superfree foods but go for the ones that are speed foods, the ones with the little "s" or "ss" against them.

perhaps try a new recipe or think of your favourite food and see how you can adapt it to be SW friendly.

Whatever happens on Thursday, we are here for you [/quo
Thanks again you truly are a mine of useful information and a Guardian angel:A

I will be keeping up with the water and filling up on SS foods though so that the effects of DH birthday, a weekend away and a meal out don't undo all the good work

Lucky you having a weekend away, DH Bday and a meal in one week! I take it thats his pressies hehe...

One quick q if thats ok, the water - how does it work and how do you make sure youre not retaining it for weigh in - when do you stop before weigh in as such... (Does that even make sense??)

Angie that is fantastic - really well done you - you must be on cloud 9 - Good luck this week
:o Still new to forums - Scarey!!
  • I don't know how it works (although consultant 31 posted a great piece about this not that long back...), and I stopped drinking at 4pm (WI at 6pm!)

The birthday and the meal are related, but the weekend is at mates house, and will probably involve a drink or two
