just got back from WI and very surprised that I lost 3.5 lbs!! That makes 1 stone 10.5 lb in 12 weeks. I'm dumbstruck, I really am. After that very slight gain last week, I am so happy to get back to losing ways, and hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll get my 2 stone award! :j
thats fantastic. well done0 -
Thats nothing compared with my Birthday weekend!!lol, I need help before Thurs WI
Hello there
first of all, you only have a birthday once a year so dont beat yourself up over how much you have eaten. It sounds like you have made sensible choices and if you enjoyed it then whats the problem. If you had gone out for your birthday meal and had eaten a plain salad and bottled water, Im sure you would be feeling pretty miserable now and feeling rather deprived and would end up having a much worse binge! So there were a couple more functions? Slimming World is not a diet, its a heathly approach to eating for life. life is for living not for being miserable and eating salad leaves for the rest of your life! If you gain this week then dont feel too dishearted about it. The SW plan is there for us during those times when we have come back from hols etc and those few pounds have crept back on. here are my suggestions for you.
sit down and roughly plan your menu for the next week. Include some red / green days options (if you enjoy both) so you can pick whatever you fancy on the particular day. if you understand the success express plan (i dont!) then perhaps plan a couple of days of this (we have one member who has lost 7 stone -1 more stone to go and when she follows success express for a week combined with her exercise plan, she tends to have a good loss (the last little bit can be very stubborn to come off). Include plenty of superfree foods - have a re-read of your food op book. its easy to overlook stuff. I actually e-mailed slimming world magazine telling them that one of their recipes wasnt free as they suggested because it included fruit cocktail. I had overlooked the fact that you could have this as a HEB option. I got a very polite e-mail from them informing me! :embarasse
I also found out recently that you could have a 227g baked apple and 1 level tbsp of mincemeat as a HEB and i have been doing the plan almost a year so there is bound to be stuff that you have overlooked.
also check out the lifeline online site because the heathly extras get updated so there might be a new soup that takes your fancy.
they also have an extensive receipe collection include features called 10 ways with apples, potatoes etc. there might be something there that takes your fancy..
When you go to class on thursday, ask for a food diary. I find if Ive got to write it down, its less likely to go in my mouth.
As mentioned try to eat lots of superfree foods but go for the ones that are speed foods, the ones with the little "s" or "ss" against them.
perhaps try a new recipe or think of your favourite food and see how you can adapt it to be SW friendly.
Whatever happens on Thursday, we are here for you :beer:0 -

I'll admit that I have slipped slightly and stopped measuring my skimmed milk, but am pretty sure I am well within limit as I only have it in 2 coffees in the morning. I tend to use syns at the weekend and no more than 2 a day during the week. Had a night out last week and lost 1lb, been good this week and I think I've put on 4lbs!

(Hello Everyone,
It is taster night on wednesday (weigh in), just wondered what to make, I have the ingredients coming to make scotch eggs, but just wondered what else I could make, I have some rice in the cupboard, what could I put with it? Will have to be cold as no way to keep it warm/hot.

Hi Jolene - sorry I didn't see this yesterday.
Scotch eggs seem a good idea if you can do them low syn.
Last taster I took in a flask of hm superfree soup. In our class people brought in things like, cous cous and roast veg salad, chunks of SW 'quiche', one girl brought in the new alpen light bar (toffe?choc?) chopped up for us to try - that was nice!
Not sure I have any specific cold ideas for your rice though - although you could always do tiny chopped roast veg and rice salad - sorry:o0 -

Thanks CT. Just lunch and (lots of!) water to go, the weigh in at 6pm
I would *love* to have lost 2.5lb - not only would it be my biggest EVER weekly loss so far, but it would finally get me to my stone award0 -
was thinking about cooking the rice, and some bacon, then chopping the bacon and mixing it in the rice, maybe adding some veg, like sweeetcorn, but not sure what else would taste nice cold, i don't eat rice.
Thankyou for your help.

peas (defrosted, but not cooked for that 'fresh' taste) or diced tomato are also nice in a rice salad, and would taste nice with the sweetcorn and bacon. I assume you are using the bacon as a B within the salad? Also, do you have any fresh herbs - basil or parsley or chives for example?
Remember to chill the rice down quickly after cooking it (rinsing it in cold water works well) as lukewarm rice can be a bit of a health hazard.0
