  • Hi guys - am new to MSE too and a complete convert (ie utterly addicted!). Started SW about 8 weeks ago and lost 9 lbs so far so really pleased - want to lose another stone and a half though...Well done everyone who has lost!! Some great losses here :D

Not sure if there is a money off thread I should be using for these but for those who love Green Days and need some free easy ready meals - the frozen Birds Eye Penne Arrabiatta (spicy tomato pasta) is fab and syn free (it was in the August Slimming mag) and is 99p at the moment in Netto!!! :j

Got weigh in tonight so crossing fingers...
:j Bring on the bargains!!!! :j
  • Hi Skint Catt

What amount will that make - could you split it in half and have loads of veggies with it so that you're only having half the syns?

Why can't you use Fry light?

Or what about those frozen yorkshire puddings... could you see how many syns in them? I think Aunt bessies do individual ones which are just batter and rise as you bake them, so you could put half a sossie in each of them and get "individual" ones IYKWIM?

Failing that, 20 syns isn't the end of the world, could you have a couple of days of 5 less syns than normal to makek up for it?
  • Hi guys

Please can you give me some inspiration for a new breakfast cereal to try? I'm bored with weetabix. The more MSE the better, too! :D

20 syns will make one big enough for me and OH to share - so 10syns each. I was guessing you couldn't use frylight as you need the oil in the pan really hot before you add the batter so it rises? Don't have any frozen yorkies and trying not to go to the supermarket - but an idea for next time! I think the aunt bessies are 3 or 4 each.

Its true 20 syns isn't the end of the world but 10 is even better ;) Hope I haven't missed anything though! :o

Thank you to everyone for their encouraging words. Yes, I'm not too despondent about the small gain as the overall loss in 14 days is still huge, but I do need to arrest the "slide".

My consultant has, as always, been very helpful and has analysed my food diary. Nothing really wrong with it...she did say to try and vary some of the healthy extras a bit as too much of the same thing can take longer to go through the system. But mainly it seems it's the 3 litres of water I drunk at work on weigh in day. Which was rather stupid of me but I just didn't think of it. She's now advised me to drink less on weigh in days. I suspect most if not all of the gain is down to that.

dux - the weight you've lost this week (but didn't show due to water intake) will show next week if you stick to it! Motivation if it were needed.

Hi all, been reading through and you are all doing great.

I have decided that I will definatly join a group after the baby is born as I will have 7/8mths(dep when I start mat leave) before I go back to work It would be lovely to return slim and gorgeous.
Until then however I will continue as I am, trying my best to go it alone..the main problem I am having is going of foods, like yoghurt at the moment I can't bear the thought of it!!! I have been doing well though but not tooo strict with myself

I did slip up today and end up with a subway as we were out and I was absolutely famished. Apart from that I have been doing ok(ish)

    Good Luck Everyone

    Mel x

ive had french toast occasionally. Ive used one of my HEB for two slices of slimming world friendly bread. I have mixed up egg and a bit of milk from my allowance and poured this over the bread. i also add cinnamon and / or nutmeg. 28g of sultanas is 4 syns so last time I just added 14g (2 syns). I then fry the bread in the pan with frylight serve it with frozen berries which I defrost and very low fat natural yogurt. Its very tasty and not too many syns. Ive even thought of doing it as a pudding. I think if you grated orange zest over the naturaly yogurt, it would be very very yummy
