ALV - loving your 'hand' blender that much is scary. I can think of other battery operated items I'd save first.......;) :rotfl:

(sorry - feeling in a cheeky mood after my getting drunk on 2 glasses of wine - such a lightweight!)

  • hmmmm.... you are a gooooood girl. Well done Kelly :D

I start Fast Forward tomorrow. Consultant approved (she recommended that I consider it), all planned and ready to go, looks like hell (ish), but anything has to be better than week after week after week of following the plan and not shifting the weight.:wall:

Stayed the same tonight  (thanks for asking babe)
  • Well having lost 12.5 lbs last week, this week I have gained 1.5 lbs. :(

I have stuck to the plan rigidly but have eaten LOTS of free food, including quite a few Mullerlights. It's been suggested to me in group tonight that even with free foods, I should still be limiting what I eat slightly, I shouldn't just "binge" on them, which I guess I do up to a point.

Also today at work I drunk 3 litres of water, I guess that probably accounts for some of it.

Not impressed with myself over this, I really need to be losing at this early stage, not gaining.

Angie I know that feeling well. That's why I switched to core plan!Calm down, not trying to start a WW riot:D ;):p
I know how frustrating it is to be really good and not lose enough,or anything, you feel like you're treading water!Ok you're not gaining but the object you have in mind is to LOSE weight not just hover round a certain weight.I hope fast forward works for you,and that it's not too hard to stick too!
Best of luck ALV:D :A xxx

hello. If you lost 12.5 pounds last week then I wouldnt be too disapointed with a gain of 1.5. If you are new to slimming world and are sticking to the plan as you have said then your body is probably in shock and it will take a little while to get used to the changes you are making. You should be proud of yourself. Yes it has been brought up in my class that even though its "free food", its still possible to eat too much of it. i have found in the past that "just because its there" it ends up in my mouth even though Im not actually hungry. also if i drunk that much water, I would be glued to the loo :rotfl: so that indeed may account for it. Im sure when you go next week, you will have a good loss.

im making a beef casserole on sunday. Now I normally make a huge one using two packets of the standard casserole mix you can buy. Now this amounts to 6 sysns per pack and I would have two meals out of it.

I cant decide whether to use the casserole mix with the syns or use the bovril (i have both the jar and the cubed stuff) but Im not very confident on making a stock from scratch and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction how i would make a bovril stock or if i should just use the mix I already have?

:happyloveI LOVE my hand blender  :happyhear :heartpuls :happyhear :kisses:

Hubby bought me one years ago (when DD was born) for (insert big bucks here) and I can honestly say that it would be the one 'gadget' I would rescue from my kitchen if it was burning down. :j I use it, probably, every other day.

You can get them really cheaply (this one is £4.39, and they have several at 6.99)

but obviously I have no idea if the extra is worth it - I would imagine the basic ones work just fine though :money: You could always ask over on Old-style for a recommendation......;)

thank you for your reply. It occured to me when i was watching my fix of prison break that I have a blender which I bought back a long to make fruit smoothies (but made about 1)!! This has many options on it including a crush ice option, puree option etc. Now I suppose I could use this to make my soup although I know that when I made a carrot soup before, I couldnt blend the soup hot and had to wait for the soup to cool down, blend it, then re-heat it again! what a faff!

Anyway if i bought a hand blender, I presume I could blend the soup whilst hot. some of the more expensive blender options at argos come with a little beaker.

You say that you wouldnt be without it. Im not much of a cook so the only thing i can think of using it for would be to puree soup and just wondered what other uses you had for it as you say you use it every other day...
