With a lot of tugging I managed to get the knife out ofd the swede, chop it into pieces and (just about) mash it though my mashers looking a little worse for wear now! Very nice and totally free dinner (added some carrots and mangetout for colour).
Can anyone else suggest any superfree dinners - OH's not going to be impressed by many salads for dinner though he'll eat the quorn in passata sauce and the omlette. Really want to do it though I know it'll be tough to go without my hi-fi bars and pasta/rice!0 -
How about a stir fry with loads of veg, beansprouts for crunch, tofu for chunky bits, chunks of pumpkin/squash and a sauce made from
4 tbsp soy
1 tbsp chopped ginger
1 tsp sweetner
1 tsp fivespice
1tsp ground star anise
1 chopped chilli
2 tbsp thai fish sauce
1tbsp oyster sauce (0.5 syns)
basil and mint - handful, chopped thrown in at the end of cooking
(this sauce came from SW aromatic beef and pumpkin p116 four seasons cookbook and is TOTALLY devine !!!! makes 2-4 portions, so you can ignore the syns in the oyster sauce)

meal options I've found so far;
fruit salad & yoghurt
omlette with loads of veg/quorn pieces
Egg salad/plain salad
quorn pieces in a passata/veg sauce
Stirfry (with or without quorn pieces!)
Quorn cottage pie with swede topping and veggies.
Anything else I could have? Did you have ANY syns insincere?
C xx
Nope, not syns at all. i Knew i wanted to be under 14 stone so i was uber good to look ok when i go home friday.
Breakfast was weatabix with milk allowance, and a piece of fruit.
Lunch was salad or an omelette, and qourn.
Dinner was qourn bolognase, made from scratch, with veges instead of rice, or pasta.
Or it was qourn and veg, or qourn and vege chilli. Basically, boring, no meat no carbs at all. lol.
Oh and i had my ryvita and laughing cows, or alpen choc fudge bars which are lush.
I lived for diet coke for a week basically. I love the stuff.
Im just so low at the moment, knowing i still have 50lb to go, ive lost 18lb in three weeks and im still a size 18. I was sure a loosing a stone would make me a 16 but no such luck. lol.SW Started 27/08/0868.5 lb to LooseSo far lost 18lb - 06/09/08

ah ok so you did have HEb's in milk, cereal, Hi'Fi's, Alpen bars etc etc. That will make it a lot easier!
It took me 20wks to lose my last 1/2 stone. As soon as I switched OFF diet coke (just the occasional can now) and changed to diet traditional lemonade/diet orangeade etc I'm moving again and have lost over 4lbs! Lots of people have told me Diet Coke is one of the worst things to drink and it looks like its true!0 -
i dont know, i have at least 2 pints a day, and it doesnt affect me at all.
Last year i lost 4 stone on the cambridge diet, and was drinking 2 litres or more diet coke a day.SW Started 27/08/0868.5 lb to LooseSo far lost 18lb - 06/09/08

I didn't think it affected me either - I drunk it all losing 3.5stone last time. I've lost 2.5stone this time and drunk it throughout - at least 3 litres a week (plus two cans a day) but got stuck for ages. Maybe just coincidence, but I've had two people tell me in as many weeks that its the worst stuff!0

hmm. well, when i stop loosing weight maybe ill cut it. But till then its my life blood! lol.
