Does anyone know if Sainsbury's basics frozen fruit salad is free when defrosted?

    Thanks C xx

    Yes it is free.

fluffynit the smoothie mix is only free if it's not made into a smoothie, though I'm sure you already know that :)

I need to review my spending as I think I spend far too much on food (there is only me and my partner and a cat!) I seem to spend close on to £100 or more on a home delivery shop but then go to another supermarket days later for one thing but end up spending in excess of £20! I have no idea what I spend each month but much more than I need to!

what do other members spend on food each week and how do you budget with the slimming world foods. can you offer any suggestions for slimming world foods that are cheap chearful and as syn free as possible???

Pop over to the Old Style board for loads of info on cutting your food bills. It would be possible to about halve what you're spending with a little help from them. I spend about half that and we are two people and a dog. I cook a lot from scratch and shop very carefully so that I can spot the bargains on the shelves where stuff is reduced for a quick sale.

  • Chin up flat eric - you could try and go it alone if class is not so much fun and come here instead!

i'm feeling a bit fat today - no reason why i should (have stuck to the plan) but the trousers i had on this morning were a bit snug and uncomfortable. I've changed into jogging bottoms now as i am working on the floor making curtains but.... Really i would just like ot drop half a stone over night (but wouldn't we all!!)

i have some beef to make a stew tonight so i guess it'll have to be a red day.

    Any ideas for red lunches?
  • oooh, what do you have in biscotte?

tuna mixed with fromage frais/creme fraiche etc makes a nice sandwich (B) or jkt pot (B) filling

Yesterday I had a chicken and bacon salad, that was very nice.

onion and bacon quiche or omlette

hm onion or courgette or squash or vegetable or tomato soup (free on both of course!)
  • i like the idea of soup and i have some veg in the fridge that needs using up. i might have a tin of tuna somewhere!

Yup - me too - its why I always get stressed out. Yet my first piece of advice to anyone else - is don't weigh yourself.

Ok. Shut up now Catt! :p

Oh my gosh, I thought I had maintained this week, but oh no I have just put on 1lb 1/2!!!!! I can't believe it I am so going to have to throw my scales away as it's not good for the nerves weighing myself before class and then finding the reults worse than I thought.

I have been a little bit bad lol, half a slice of cheesecake and half a strawb tart, wouldn't have thought it would have made a 1lb 1/2 difference. Back on the straight and narrow again.

Has anyone gone back and done a week one i.e. been absolutely strict and sticking to plan 100%, if so did it make a big difference to your weight loss?

  • Good morning!
Not going well this week on the Slimming World front! I moved in with my boyfriend at the weekend :j and had a green day friendly pasta bolognese I'd made for supper on Monday night. I've also stocked up on loads of SW goodies from Asda.
Was going to bake a joint of gammon last night, as a heb with new potatoes peas and parsley sauce, but then had a bit of a family emergency (very very long story) and ended up eating half a portion of sausage and chips my dad bought from the chippy. Then tonight my mil (sort of!) has invited us there for supper - will not be SW friendly!
I was planning to be extra good this week to recover from my birthday weekend excesses, but it looks like it'll be a miracle to see a loss on Friday!

Hi all ! Hopefully you're alldoing great
Catt , I'm glad you like my little lecture, happy to oblige, maybe you'll do the same for me next time I have a 'wobble' !!
Right down to business, I wondered if I could pick your brains for a few ideas? I've posted this on another forum too, to try and get as many ideas as possible, so sorry if you read this elsewhere too. We're going away to Weymouth, next week for a Monday to Friday break. We'll be on quite a tight budget (isn't everyone at the moment!)and it'll be self catering. What I need is a few ideas for meals/snacks etc that won't break the bank ie are moneysaving, will stick to slimming world principles, will reduce the temptation of the takeaway ( although I intend to have one whilst we're away) and won't require me being tied up in the kitchen for vast amounts of time (it is supposed to be a holiday after all!). I've thought of the pasta'n sauces and bags of prepared salad. Anyone got any other ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance all you lovely guys and girls!

  • i did a free week, so i just had foods from the free list at the start of the book. I didnt have red of green days, just ate superfree foods to my hearts content.

Im veggie, and i dont really love carbs that much, and i wanted a push with my weighloss this week as im going home to see my family for the first tim in months and i want them to be able to notice ive lost weight so they will stop !!!!!ing im fat or obese, so i did one week on superfree foods, no syns, and it worked.

(My consultant in no way suggested this, i just figured id stick to superfree stuff and see how it worked.)

    Hi all,

I recently purchased a packet of fresh egg noodles from Asda and I can't find anywhere whether it will be a syn or not - lifelineonline didn't list it - anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks :)
