OK, I'm happy dancing! :j
Weighed myself this morning (I make it a getting up routine thing, as then I remember and do it at the same time) and compared with this time last week I am 4lbs down! :T
I have a wedding to go to this weekend, so I have to be super-good, but I'm really encouraged by that start, and quite surprised actually as I was expecting about 2lb.
Thanks for your help so far, folks!0 -
:hello: Hi all, I've got half a can of campbells mushroom condensed soup in my fridge leftover which I will have for lunch today - I know its 3.5syns for half a can but can anyone tell me how much water I should add to make it up? I threw the can out without looking!
Thanks

mine used to be in the evening, after tea at 5pm id eat all night and be so ratty if i couldnt eat
so i started to have me tea at 6.30pm and make sure i have either a bowl of syn free soup before my dinner and/or fruit and yogurt afterwards and im full
this helps as now i dont eat anything after my dinner

Mine used to be the evening too - especially when I was on my own. I don't eat until 7.30pm now as OH isn't back from work (no kids yet). I usually save a Hi-Fi bar (HEb or syns) for later with a cuppa too before bed or have lots of fruit salad mixed yoghurt on a mini meringue (3 syns) for dessert.0

Definitely evenings, especially if I had a glass of wine as I'd have to have a bag of crisps too. Been ok the last week, as I'm eating so much at dinner I've not had room to snack! Except for last night, that is, because I was wandering around at stupid o'clock with asthma, got hungry because I was up later than usual and had an extra slice of bread as I can't sleep if I'm hungry.
(Touch wood) asthma seems better this morning. DD got 2 hamsters yesterday for her birthday in a fortnight, and I'm hoping it's not the wee beasties I'm allergic to. I think it's the wood shavings that they had in the bottom of the cage - I made DD and DH clean them out last night (after about 10 hours - cleanest hamsters in history!) and replace the shavings with paper towel until we can get them some proper paper bedding, and it seems to have done the trick. I still need to vacuum the room and air it to get the last of the bits and the smell out, but I'm going to leave it a bit till my lungs have sorted themselves out.0 -
OK, I googled it, so it may not be accurate, but it said that a skinny latte with syrup is 13.5 syns for venti, 11 syns for grande and 8.5 syns for tall and the same without syrup is 10.5, 8 or 6 syns.A tuppence worth on the skinny latte thing,as I have taken part in a similar debate elsewhere, the smallest size works out at 300ml which is well within an HEA and IIRC the sugar free syrups are free on both and even the regular syrups are only 1 syn so don't give up meeting for coffee just yet!
This caught my eye as our SW consultant did an exercise with the class last night to work out how many syns someone had from a story she read out to us - anyone else's group do that? The woman in the story 'Ivy' had a skinny latte, so I didn't count that as syns, but as a HEa. However the consultant said they can't be counted as an HEa as they add sugar to make them froth, and because it's not measured, so it may not be the right amount for a HEa.
I wasn't going to argue with her, but I'm pleased to see the information above - I'd have the tall skinny latte and count it as an HEa!

I am a teacher and the 6 weeks holiday had done me no good as I can't cope without the routine and tend to eat more syns because they are there for the kids.
Anyway last week I'd had enough so I commited to writing down everything on a food diary and checking the syns online - I had 102 syns.
I got weighed in yesterday and lost 6lbs!!!
I feel fantastic and wish I could bottle the feeling!
I am going to do food diaries for the next 3 weeks as if i were a new member!

Oh, excellent result, well done :T
Just remember how you feel today when the going gets a bit rough - it doesn't always show every week, but over a month there should always be a downward trend.
A big pat on the back for 2cats1kid for a great weight loss too :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Right, first off, thank you for everyone for welcoming me as a newbie here. You've all been brilliant this week and i couldnt have syned so healthyly without you all (lol).
Now for the juicy gossip. I was 14 stone 12.5lb this time last week. At my first meeting my SW starting weight as of tonight (a week in as i started last tuesday night unnoficially to see if i could get on with the diet to see if i wanted to join), i weighed in at 14 stone 4.5lb, so i lost 8lb this week. Which was amazing.Same as i lost my first week on cambridge diet, and ive eaten millions this week (rho i have been calorie counting ish, but just so idont go mad otherwise id just eat jacket potato and beans all day!).
So thank you everyone, and i i have 30.5lb till my first (personal and self declared) target which i hope will be off in the 15 weeks till christmas.
I know I shouldn't say I told you so but........................:whistle:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
