i sympathise with the picky eater thing beachbeth.
My eldest is really iffy about food and doesn't like stuff to be 'mixed up' (and he's 11 so i can't even say it's a toddler phase!!) Red days are fine - meat and two veg go down a treat. i
I've got so cross with it all now that i cook what everyone else will eat and if he doesn't like it he is capable of fixing beans on toast (but only if the beans don't touch the bread:rotfl: )
What ages are your picky eaters? Can you gently introduce them to the healthy stuff?
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
This made me laugh! Its my OH and my eldest daughter (who is 21) who are the picky eaters! Ive got no hope of changing them! OH will eat veg and sometimes fruit but he prefers fry-ups and sausages with beans and stuff like that. My daughter has always been picky despite me starting her off on solids with homecooked food with veg right from the start when she was tiny. Now she won't eat fruit or veg and just wants meat and potatoes or pizza. She has a very limited range and I just tear my hair out with her! My younger daughter tends to eat what I eat and we both like similar things so she's easy!0 -
sarmia - its not too bad really - can still have a huge amount for a couple of syns. My mum loves the stuff but I just make my own - and if you substitute sweetcorn for mushrooms and fry it with egg you get FREE egg fried rice.0

Further to a previous question..
I seem to struggle the most on a weekend, I don't drink nearly enough water and seem to stray a lot. It doesn't help that my housemate lives on take aways and I always fancy the odd chip once he's finished eating
I've become alot better since I started and I've noticed I'm not as peckish all the time. I think I'm actually doing it right now!
WI tomorrow...I'm very optimistic but we'll see what happens!

I am going to go along today and join SW.
Am I ok to take my kids to my 1st meeting? DH will not be home intime and I really want to go along & join.
Quite a few children come to group with their Mum - just bring them something to keep them occupied if you can (colouring book and pencils for example). It can be quite boring for a little 'unI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
This caught my eye as our SW consultant did an exercise with the class last night to work out how many syns someone had from a story she read out to us - anyone else's group do that? The woman in the story 'Ivy' had a skinny latte, so I didn't count that as syns, but as a HEa. However the consultant said they can't be counted as an HEa as they add sugar to make them froth, and because it's not measured, so it may not be the right amount for a HEa.
I wasn't going to argue with her, but I'm pleased to see the information above - I'd have the tall skinny latte and count it as an HEa!

p.s. disgruntled to report that I stayed the same this week.
Adding sugar to milk to froth it better? Where did she get that information from? It's frothed by steam only, I used to work in a cafe.
Ooh I love skinny lattes, they have sugar free syrup too. Yum!SW since 23/07/2009Target Loss for 05/11/2009 = 33lbs/33lbs to go0 -
