  • Lovely isn't it, but sorry i can't help you - haven't been into Marks for an age.

i had another good day yesterday although i had 15 sins. I know that you're allowed between 5 and 15 but I would like to keep it low in the week so if i go out at the weekend then it's more flexible.

i'm doing a veg lasagne tonight. Anyone remember how they make the cheese sauce that goes on top? i'm thinking it's VLF quark or yoghurt mixed with cheese and egg???

I weighed myself last Thursday when I started this plan and I was 8 stone 10. I know this won't seem much to some of you but im only five foot tall and quite petite. Ive never been this heavy and used to hover around 7stone 2 and 7 stone 6 when I was really skinny. I would be happy now just to be 7 stone something!

Thing is last week I was in the throes of pmt and so I think some of that weight was water retention. I weighed myself on Sunday and was 8 stone 7½. Im sure I didn't lose 2½ lbs in fat in just a couple of days so Im going to take 8 stone 7½ as my starting weight. Do you others have any trouble during your time of the month? Im also on the pill which makes me just want to keep eating. Everything just seems to be against you when you're a woman. I have two fussy eaters in my family too who like all the unhealthy foods so Im having to cook for them and do my own meals separately, which doesn't help.
  • i sympathise with the picky eater thing beachbeth.
My eldest is really iffy about food and doesn't like stuff to be 'mixed up' (and he's 11 so i can't even say it's a toddler phase!!) Red days are fine - meat and two veg go down a treat. i
I've got so cross with it all now that i cook what everyone else will eat and if he doesn't like it he is capable of fixing beans on toast (but only if the beans don't touch the bread:rotfl: )

What ages are your picky eaters? Can you gently introduce them to the healthy stuff?

I normally weigh a couple of pounds more at my TOTM, so I'm not expecting much of next week!

I'm quite lucky in that DH will eat pretty much anything that I put in front of him, and DD has done a massive amount of growing up this summer (not sure if it is connected with starting seniors today!) and is getting a lot happier to try new things. She'll also eat her way through things that she doesn't like much and then just ask that we not have it again/very often, so much easier to work with. e.g. normally when I do a beef casserole she moans as beef (apart from mince) is her least favourite meat, but I did one for last night with bovril and carrots and onion and she said she really liked it. I nearly fell over LOL. And she ate the cabbage without a big scene. Too much to hope that we are over the pre-teen strops at a fortnight short of 11, but at least she is getting more human again!

Daft question, chapesses! Is chicken/beef bovril free on a green day or just on a red day? I am guessing it might be. If not free on a green day is there a stock that is? Just thinking about my lentil bolognaise for tonight - would be tastier with stock rather than just water.

Anyone who goes to Starbucks etc - try the fruit teas. The dark berry ones are nicest (blackberry/raspberry etc) - these are syn free (if you don't add sugar which you shouldn't need to!) :j
