terri,
decide if your going red or green, then either fill up on rice dishes or meat dishes to suit, with just a small portion of the opposite, 50 syns sounds plenty,
everytime i go out for a meal now, i always eat some fruit about an hour or so before we go, so i'm not starving and finding myself filling my plate cos i'm so hungry.

well done 160 cos i know we have both been struggling. i lost half a pound this week.
my consultant suggested instead of saving syns up for the weekend i should stick to a maximum of 15 every single day (had been having 5 one day then 25 the next for example) so i will see if it makes a difference.
i lost about 2lbs a week when i first did it but i will be satisfied with losing 1lb a week now (hopefully)0 -
well done to you too lady v, every half pound counts, its a step in the right direction
here's the top ten tips we got last night, see if they help anyone- Drink water or sugar free juices, the more the better, but don’t gulp it down as this can lower your blood pressure and make you feel faint.
- speed foods, go through your book and pick out all the ss foods you like, and eat as much of these as you can combine in your meals, they are called “speed” foods for a reason
- Drink a glass of water and/or juice if you still feel hungry after a meal, quite often thirst is mistaken for hunger. Even better drink one before a meal, to fill you up quicker whilst eating
- eat breakfast – there is nothing better for getting your metabolism going than a good breakfast
- vary your heb, your body gets fed up of eating the same all the time, sometimes a change to these can really boost your weight loss
- vary your foods on each day – i.e. on green don’t always have baked potato and beans, on red don’t always have chicken, variety is the way to go, no one can face the same meals for the rest of there lives!!!!
- get you magazines out, make a file of recipes, (I know this was posted earlier) and then rotate them so the same ones aren’t always at the front.
- batch cook, put aside a couple of hours a week, to batch cook, then freeze recipes in meal size portions, ready meals for when you have one of those days you don’t want to cook, and if you do extra’s (say make 4 portions instead of 2) you start to build up a stock. This works well with veggies too, peel a big pan of potatoes and mash them at once, then freeze in portions, also with soups etc. Apparently the people who suggested this reckon they now hardly throw any food out, as its all used before it goes off, and also its reducing there food bills.
- walking, its free, it’s easy to do, and it’s great for toning up you legs and bum. walk to the corner shop, or anywhere else you could really walk instead of using the car.
- had a maintain/gain and don’t know why? Go back to basics, do a food diary, and be honest, you may find there is something there you haven’t been counting, or you are not always weighing your healthy extras like you should thinking you can estimate it well now cos you’ve been doing it so long.

morning everyone
well done 160 on your loss, thats great
well done to everyone else who has lost this week (dont have time to look through recent posts and note names) got to start work in a minute  (work - its so inconvenient isnt it! :rotfl: )
I have made myself a yummy bacon sandwich for lunch. Unfortunately had to syn the bread 8 syns  (Warburtons seeded batch 400g loaf - 2 slices) but Im sure it will be worth it!!
Instead of flora, I have used 1 laughing cow light triangle from my HEA allowance, I have put a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce (syn value 1.5 for 15ml) but only used a tiny bit so syn value negotiable!) Plenty of green leaves, sainsburys be good to yourself bacon medalions (free on red) and two spring onions finely chopped. YUM. its sat in my work fridge and hopefully I will be able to resist until lunchtime!
Tea tonight is my m&s butterflied leg of lamb with winter glaze spice and thanks to your suggestions will he having roasted carrot, onion, mushrooms and peppers with it. Looking forward to that too!
Tomorrow I am having an asda delivery and have ordered amongst other things a 14 inch pizza! (stonebake vegetable). It will be the 3rd Pizza i will have eaten since starting SW in August. (i used to eat pizzas every other week)!!
I know I shouldnt have it but if I dont order it, will be very upset so will see how much tempation there is when it comes! Might stick it in the freezer for a VERY special treat.
I have also ordered one of their curry pot meals. Their asda curry pot beef madras is only 14.5 syns on red which I can team up with a HEB jacket potato. I have ordered the bhajis, papadams, nan bread and dips for my other half so I will have to see if I can resist the EXTRAS! as that will amount to horrendous syns! I dont know whether to have say a bhaji (3.5syns for 1) nan bread (unknown syn value) and poppadums and dips (unknown syn value) and just be EXTRA good Monday and Tuesday (get weighed on Wednesday). What do you think? My consultant says if we have something on we should just flexi syn although ordering an asda curry with all the extras is hardly an excuse!
What does everyone else have planned food wise for the weekend. When I got into work yesterday morning, I sat down and planned my menu for the whole week which I found really helpful as not only does it mean I can plan my shopping better, but I dont get stressed thinking what I want for tonights tea and then getting even more stressed having to make a last minute dash to the shops or having something I shouldnt!
Happy Friday everyone :j0 -

Flat Eric, what about making your own Onion Bhajis?
ngredients 1 large onion
1 indian oxo cube
a pkt of smash potato
chop the onion put in a bowl with enough water to cover and add the indian oxo cube cook in the microwave for about 10 mins (until onions are soft )
stir in the smash potato until its stiff enough to make balls the size of a golf ball place in a tray on foil spray with fry light ( no need for fry light if you use baco release foil nothing ever sticks to it ) bake in the oven on 180 for about 20 mins or until they look cooked it makes about 16 and it is 1 syn for the whole lot on a green day0 -
Maintained this week which made me pretty fed up as I had been good all week and drank 3 litres of water per day but after reading all your posts, hints and tips I am back on track. Going to try and eat as many speed foods as I can. Keep up the good work.0
