    Thanks LL and C31.

Very down at the mo generally so its just one more thing to kick myself with. :(:(:(

(I did lose 1lb at WI tonight, but a) more luck than anything I think as my scales & WiiFit show no loss and b) I know that I still won't lost the next 2.5lbs to get below the next stone which I've been wanting for sooooooooo long.)

I insist you stop kicking yourself or I shall be round to slap you with a wet sponge :)
Right.........you lost 1lb, well done :T :T the other 2½lbs will follow I promise. Ignore your scales and the WiiFit - the SW scales are worth such a lot of money they ought to be more accurate than any others.

I'm sure you already do, but double-check that what you think is a HE actually is one, also check syn values as they do change sometimes. Weigh everything that's not free food.

There are lots of HEBs you can have without going back to bread - though if it's bread you're craving have a little, I don't believe in suffering unnecessarily. You could try some stewed or canned fruit or have extra peas/beans etc with your red day meals.

You CAN do this, you've done it before, you'll do it again. You just need to stay focussed, have faith and keep posting, we're all here for you. :kisses:

Both me and OH go to SW class, and we've both lost 19 lbs between us in 8 weeks. Has anyone noticed that they spend more on food when healthy eating? I managed to spend £160 a month earlier this year and last month, spent £300  on food. Add the weekly class fees, although we have a countdown, it's sure adding up!

OK, fruit and veg cost quite a bit, byt balanced against the rubbish I used to buy - biscuits, crisps, sweets etc, it doesn't work out much more to be healthy. Also of course, the cost of food seems to be rising daily at the mo. I pad meals out with extra veg (grated carrot and a tin of baked beans in a cottage pie means using less meat) and pulses added to green day meals bulk them up and make other ingredients go further.

Have a look on the Old Style board for hints on making your money stretch. I'm on a crusade just now, using white vinegar and Stardrops for just about everything..............and it really works!!!

  • You may remember that three weeks ago I said this:
:jI will stay in control while I am away, and I will gain no more than 2lb over the fortnight.

Well, official weigh in was last night and I have gained 2.5lb

Actually, I don't think this is too bad - in many respects I think I have done well. Had I not had this goal it would have been far worse (hubby relaxed completely and gained 8lb  . He and I usually match weight exactly 1 stone apart - so it is a clear illustration of what could have happened!)

....I remember EVERY morning I had a lf yof and a brioche (5syns) whilst he had a pain au raison AND a pain au chocolat (total about 30 syns)

So, whilst it is annoying that I have had to change my sig the wrong way, I know that lots of speed foods and sticking to the plan will get those few lbs off soon enough - I need the incentive for the coming weekend, three meals out and a takeaway    ..... this is gonna be a real test!
  • Ok, am back on the plan as of Monday just gone and have already remembered why I'm not a fan of red days - I'm too much of a carb queen!:rotfl:

Just thought I'd share with you my absolute favourite recipe for a green day, this feeds my clan of 4 but you could adapt it depending on what you like...

    6 quorn sausages
    2 red onions
    1tsp marmite
    2 tins of baked beans

chop onions and dry fry in stock made from 1/2 pint water and the marmite.
    fry sausages in fry light
once the liquid has gone from the onions slice and add the sausages and the baked beans and heat gently.

serve over syn free chips or syn free wedges or on a heb serving of toast.

I practically lived on this while I was on the plan before and lost loads of weight although, the air wasn't exactly fresh in the house after eating this, cant work out why though
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.:p

Ooh that is a favourite in this house. Made it last week, and when I mashed up the swede & carrot, I added some fresh Coriander - and oh .. my .. life, it was gorgeous! Never, ever am I making Shepherds pie with potato mash on top ever again!!!

  • I've got a question about instant Cappuccino drinks!!

I purchased the Kenco Cappio unsweetened ones, which are 3.5 Syns each but I see online that the sweetened ones are also 3.5 Syns each. How come?????

Also - can I use dried milk as part of my HEA??

    Thanks

Hello - does anyone mind if I join in here too?

I've been back at SW for 4 weeks now and have lost 8 1/2 lbs so far (-3, -3 1/2, +1, -3 lbs) so not doing too badly.

I'd really like to lose a stone and then see how I feel - that would take me from 10st 12 to 9st 12 - I'm a size 10/12 now but want to be a comfortable size 10.

I'm a veggie so its only green days for me I'm afraid but I'm trying to be a bit more adventurous with my food.

Is there anywhere that you guys have listed recipes etc that you use?
Or are they just dotted through the posts?

    Todays food includes....

    Cereal - HEB
Splash of milk (don't really like it just use it to "wet" the cereal and then the dog gets the left overs!)
Small cheese roll, banana, small bunch of grapes - HEB, HEA
Wholewheat pasta, passata, quorn meatballs - all free apart from 1 syn per meatball
packet of skips - 5 syns

So a total of 9 syns so far.....(including evening meal)

Will walk the dog for 20mins morning, 40 mins teatime, 10 mins bedtime....

All this talk about food is making me hungry!
