The first thing you need to decide is whether you want to do a red or green day. If you are on a green day, your best bet is chow mein as a chicken chow mein is only 7 syns, or chop suey is 5.5. On a red day, beef and mushrooms is 4.5 or chicken in oyster sauce is also 4.5

Basically, I would have whatever you want, but avoid chips, prawn crackers and too much alcohol.

Thanks for the help, think I'll stick to red day and hope for the best!!

Whatever you do, don't have duck and pancakes 375g serving is 30 syns on red and a massive 52.5 on green

    Hi everyone,

am new to the slimming world thread, but reading all your great posts has given me the kick up the backside to get back into it. I had joined a group a about 8 mnths ago, but I really didn't like it, it was a bit 'clicky' and felt like I was wasting my £4.50. I tried to go it alone, but it didn't really work for me. So .............. I joined a different class on Wednesday, seems a really friendly group and the consultant is lovely.

If anyone needs/wants the password, pm me and I'll be happy to supply it.

    Thanks
    Jo
  • Hi all..haven't been on this week as I've been so busy and my diet has officially gone out of the window. Dh and I had our 3rd attempt at fertility treatment on Wed :T But i usually go off the rails waiting to see if its worked. I really don't want to do this this time but i think i've already gone to pot slightly:mad: I'm really annoyed at myself because i've been doing really well up til this week.

anyway i'm going to try my best to get back on track. i'll be having WI on monday this week instead of sunday so I have 2 full days to try and repair the damage.

    Today i will/have had

    beans/cheese on toast (HEa, HEb)
    Mug shot Free
Vegetable curry and boiled rice (4 syns)

also can someone please pm the password for this week..thanks in advance

  • Hello everyone!

I’m new to this thread but have read quite a few pages to give me a couple of ideas etc.

I joined a group 2 weeks ago and although I’ve lost 2 I don’t feel supported at all. My consultant is very nice and gives encouragement but the women who go are very cliquey, obviously most of them have been going for many years and all know each other and don’t seem to have the time/energy to make others welcome.

I do like the tips I get from the classes along with up to dates of the healthy extras and new low syn foods and I find the website very helpful but I’m not sure I’m keen to carry on there for much longer.

Sorry for thinking out loud but I think a couple of the ladies ideas (on here) to have a self weigh in at Boots would be the best idea although I worry I’ll fall off the wagon again and I’ll be back to stage one!

A £15.20 saving a month, sounds good to me! I think I'll give it a couple more weeks and if it doesn't get better I'll look into joining another group.

Hi and welcome to the thread and to Slimming World. I do hope you'll try for a little longer at your group especially as you seem to be getting the support you need.

If the existing members seem to be a little clique-y, it's often because they are having such fun with the other regulars that they forget their manners a little. Why don't you go sit next to someone and introduce yourself, I'm sure you'll be made welcome. I have had new members who sit 3 chairs away from the nearest exisiting member as though they don't want to mingle -sending out the wrong vibes maybe - but if you smile and appear friendly I'm sure someone will be only too willing to chat.

Good luck with your weight loss and well done so far. I am biased I know, but I firmly believe that unless you're very disciplined, it's only too easy to lose the plot when you try to go it alone. Meanwhile, we're here for extra support as and when needed.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Hi everyone,

Weigh-in this week was good - 3lb lost! Our consultant is on her hols this week so we had a stand-in and she forgot to give us the password - I didn't even think of it until I was halfway home. Could someone PM it to me please.

    Thanks!
