KellyBB, thanks for the idea of sorting cupboard supplies into red/green and superfree - I would never have thought of that but how great to just open a drawer and know that everything there is free on the right day!
Mollygrub, how about trying some curries - there are lots of that use only pulses and vegetables? They are usually egg and mushroom free. If you search on the website there should be some recipes.
  • Morning all

Well i have been having a nightmare..I feel so rubbish about myself and can't stop eating junk..I'm trying desparately to get back into the swing of things.

I really want to do some exercise but i don't know what and i'm being held back by the lack of equipment. I don't even have any trainers and can't really afford to get any.

Sorry for the moan...anyway can someone please pm me the password for this week. Thanks again..i promise my next post will be upbeat and useful:cool:

Mr & MrsEvans ... you HAVE to stop eating junk!!:p Honestly you will feel so much better. I feel loads better since I have been at SW. My cholesterol level is right down and I no longer have to take some pills the GP prescribed for acid/burping/indigestion (and I'd been on them about a year). If you're on a tight budget, walking is as good as anything and FREE! Or take a look in charity shops & car boots for mini-trampolines, weights etc.

Eric - I read your post and thanks SO much for all your advice. Drinking extra water is going OK. I like the sound of your quiche too. I am making a BIG one for us all for tonight - I prefer them cold too. There IS a nice Summer Vev one in this month's SW and a couple of ladies at class had made it and said it's scrummy!:j Apparently you don't need anywhere near the peas in it they suggest. The one I'm making tonight has corned beef, chopped onions, mushrooms, peppers and anything else I like the look of!!;)

Well done on all your great weight losses & hope you all have a fun weekend.

P.S. for Eric - I am varying my diet. You get talking to people about slimming/diets and so on and before I started at SW, the thing that stuck in my mind was "slimming is boring." or "I got sick of the sight of Mullerlights when I was slimming" So I made a determined effort to vary things.

I can honestly say I am never hungry and never bored with my food. I buy very little in the way of actual "slimming" products. I did buy a box of Ryvita goodness bars weeks ago and had one of those yesterday with my lunch but that's about it. I use plenty of Mullers but don't have them on their own that often. I make other desserts out of them. I am hooked on Mango Salsa at the moment (so is hubby) I make big bowls of that (I see the recipe is also in this months SW mag) and that is so colourful and tasty.

The other thing I adore is Total 0% Greek Yohourt. I prefer that to Muller actually.;) I chop up fruit and add that, or a spoonful of Options powder or a teaspoon of lemon curd (half a syn) I find it very versatile.

RebekahR - Have you read through the booklet explaining about free food yet?Do you like eggs?If you don't like pasta/rice,how about noodles or couscous? When did you last eat pasta or rice?Maybe you just need to find new ways to use them. While I wouldn't try and force anyone to eat what they don't enjoy, the whole point of SW is to take you out of your comfort zone/bad habits. The idea is to shock yourself (and your mind, body and spirit!) into better habits by realising you can eat LOADS of different foods and still LOSE weight:T .But you will only do this by reading the book first!!!;)

If you like potatoes then eat lots of potatoes. If you like meat then eat lots of meat.JUST NOT LOTS OF BOTH ON THE SAME DAY!:rotfl: And don't forget to fill up on fruit and veg.And mullerlights. And salad. And water. And anything else you like that's free on that day!!!And the best tip I have is to only use your syns on 'treats'.Otherwise,if I use a lot of them for meals I find I feel a bit resentful.

If you have time over the weekend go through your cupboards and divide things into free and synned, and red and green if you have the space. If you have room, keep a shelf in the fridge, one in the freezer and a cupboard full of superfree foods (i.e. free on red AND green) so when you get confused by the plan,or just hungry, you can always grab something safe in the knowledge you're sticking to the plan.

Also keep a bowl of fruit near you at all times. If I don't see it I don't eat it,simple as that! But when I eat lots of fruit I find I don't retain water and my stomach feels a lot less bloated.Have one at work (if you're allowed!),one in the kitchen, lounge, dining room, even your bedroom, wherever you spend a lot of time basically.Ditto bottles of tap water or diluted squash.Again,if it's there you'll consume it,which can only be good.

Most importantly of all I would say,as my Dad somewhat famously does in my family,IF YOU'RE HUNGRY - EAT;) !Sounds simple:rolleyes: ,and it is.It doesn't matter if you get things wrong occasionally (we all do) ,just as long as you keep trying....:A

Oh yes I read through the book every day (numerous times)! I have a good
idea of which is which. I favour green day. This is will be short as I need to go shopping for fruit and veg lol. I've run out! We'll I couldn't resist. I was so hungry I got up and had a bowl of weetabix at 4am ... I love the cupboard idea although I really don't think it would work in our house :-( My man would have a fit lol. Definately if I was living alone though!
yes eggs are nice. No noodles and couscous. I really am so fussy  I will get some tinned spagetti and some fresh and try that. I am very good with drinking water. Always have been so I don't need to worry too much about that. Always have a pint glass near me lol. Yes I take fruit to work with me. I work from home and its here in my "office" with my water so I just pick at it.

You have an orgasm if you eat Muller Light :confused: that sounds a tad inconvenient ;):p

    Well I had :o:o:o 2 krispy kremes for dessert :o:o:o - I believe they are 12.5 syns each :eek::eek::eek:

ah well I'm off work for a week and am giving myself a holiday from healthy eating too :o:o
Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
    Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying

Mr&MrsEvans - no probs!! Any time.:D :D I wait to hear what you come home with!! Maybe a nice fit young personal trainer - that would do nicely!!:j :j Talking of which, I'd better go and stock up on the Mullers (thank you Rebekah:T ) Tell you what ARE nice, just a meringue nest (2.5-3 syns) crumbled up roughly with a muller yoghourt and some fresh raspberries or strawberries. Bit like Eton Mess if you've ever had that! I do it with Thick Greek 0% fat yoghourt because I prefer the consistency of that to Mullers.
