Hello everyone I'm new on here and just starting out doing slimming world....without going to classes, I work 12 hour shifts and just can't get there, I lost three stone with them 5 years ago and I've put a stone and a half back on. I have a few questions I'd like to ask you nice people if I may. Firstly muller lights are they no longer free????
Prunes from a health food shop are they free????
I'm stuck at work with sleep overs for the next three days but really want to start today which I have.
Any help would be great thank you xxx
muller lights are free (not the desert style ones or the layers tho)
i don't think prunes are free as fruit is only free if it is fresh or frozen (if i am wrong on this some-one will correct me!)
Just to let you know that corned beef is no longer free if you use that at all!

  • Well good evening all you lovely vanishing peoples,

I have to say, contrary to my own spectacular advice,I have been a VERY bad girl.....

FORGIVE ME FORUM,FOR I HAVE SYNNED!

I have only eaten once today,Zinger burger and chip shop chips, also a bottle of wine and 2 rums. Can you tell?!....

ANYWAY - not feeling too guilty (yet) and will be exceptionally well behaved tomorrow. Also used very few syns through the week so hopefully won't be punished by my scales too much on monday.

REBEKAH - I think as long as you're eating lots of fruit and veg,and drinking lots of water, then only having potatoes and bread shouldn't be too bad.I mean, most people I know seem to live on sandwiches and chips but don't have any fruit or veg so you're definately one step ahead of the competition!May I ask,why your o/h would object to you devoting 1 cupboard to your healthy eating? You wouldn't relly need to tell him.I'm sure he'll eventually find what he's looking for:D .I know my kids and fella do,no matter how well I try and hidethings from them!:rotfl:
    :T:jHalf a stone off,only another 2 to go!:j:T

Hi Kellybigboobs, what a name! Thanks so much for taking the effort to reply to me. I am afraid I don't eat Tofu either. I am not allergic to anything I just have never eaten meat, fish or eggs since I was about 4. Then with the added issue of not liking mushrooms it is a pain and also not being able to eat anything that is the same texture also creates problems. It is just a little bit hard as I see so many recipes but they all need eggs which is a bit of a nuisance. It is not like I struggle to find things to eat....... I have so much which is why I need to do slimming world! Have a lovely Saturday - I am looking forward to my exercise bike being delivered today then I can start my new exercise programme!

    Thanks Molly.trust me,I'm not boasting!!!

OK.now I know you don't like eggs, meat, fish, tofu, mushrooms OR substitutes for them that makes life soooooo much easier!!!:rotfl: :T :j ;) Apart from the things I already suggested I would have a go at making your own versions of veggie things, such as bean burgers, glamorgan sausages (these are not actually 'sausages',though I'm sure you knew that.Just didn't want you to panic if you didn't), stuffed vine leaves, lentil or bean based soups, stews, curries, bakes and 'pie' mixes. Also try and ring the changes by using different topping for your pies and bakes.Mashed swede, pumpkin, cauliflower, parsnip or carrot,or a combination of any of them, all make great toppings to a hearty bake/pie with an hea of cheese and heb of chopped nuts/breadcrumbs on top.You may have to start eating more dairy than you're used to but I would increase the amount slowly,or have soy products instead, just in case your body doesn't like them. And,of course, don't forget about AVOCADOES!I know these have to be synned ( but bacon not?! ) but they will give you a lot of diverse texture, flavour and nutrient even if you only add tiny amounts for energy.PLEASE don't say you don't like them?!:rotfl:

PS - I would stop reading recipes that contain eggs....;) :D

PPS - I forgot about salads.Oh my god,we really could be here all night.....!

Hello everyone, Although I do not post here very often I am always `lurking` and read most of the posts. What a fantastic bunch of folks you are and so supportive. I have been at target for over 18 months but I am still learning new ideas.
Some time ago I am sure I saw how to make syn free meringues, I think it was Splena and egg whites Anyone any idea ??
Sorry I have just eaten loads of Mullerlights and they have had no effect !!
Judderman, do be carefull on your week off, you may regret going off your healthy eating plan.

I'll be fine - If I gain up to 3 maybe 4 lbs I'll be not too unhappy - I'm sure I'll be able to shift it again - but thanks for the warning :beer:

Hi Kellybigboobs! Thanks again for being so thoughtful as to answer my post. I am going to be a real pain - I don't do soya products and to be honest have never tried aubergine and wouldn't have a clue how to use it! I shall have to investigate a bit. Now my son is away (boo hoo) I have tonnes of time on my hand to experiment and cook up a storm! I like to do batch cooking and pop it all in the freezer, particularly as there is only me to eat it and I keep making enough for 2! Having said that my mum still cooks for 5 and there is only her in the household now so maybe that won't change! Have a lovely Sunday all Moll xx

Hello all, I usd to be "Naturally" but for some reason am skintslimmer too ???? never mind this is who I am now!! Anyway hello hope you don't mind if I join you. Have been being SO naughty, really need to wind my neck in and get on with SW - I've done it on and off for donkeys years, and I did manage to lose 3 st and get to target, although that seems an age ago (yup you've guessed it all back on and more)

Just a little known fact to point out - I used to be under the impresson that the dried soya mince was syns, but apparenly its free if "dried using defatted soya" - tesco wholefoods and sainsburys own brands both are free according to syns online. All you do is rehydrate using hot water (I add a little vecon) and its good to use as you would quorn mince. 375g quorn mince packet is what, £2.99? 375g DRIED weight soya mince from tesco is 99p - and it rehydrates to just over double that weight, so I think thats a bargain!:T

I'm thinking of making the quorn moussaka which is featured in the Optimising Book. I haven't had quorn before. What does it taste like, is it very different to using beef mince? I don't want to make it then it ends up in the bin. Thanks for your help.

Emma, Quorn mince isn't to everyone's taste but a lot of people get on with it just fine. You just need to remember that it needs a flavoursome sauce to get its flavour from - I don't know what the recipe says but just make sure there is plenty of beef bovril in there if you want it to taste like "real" mince.
