Hi MOLLYGRUB,
My sister is a vegetarian with a fish allergy, she also used to be allergic to cow dairy.she had some treatment for it but still only eats very small amounts of eggs, milk and cheese. She alsodoesn't really like meat textures/substitutes.Though she loves mushrooms, thank goodness! You don't say whether you're allergic to fish or eggs,or whether you're a vegan?
Anyway, she eats an awful lot of hummus, marmite, nuts and tofu (the smoked kind).Marmite and tofu are both free, and hummus and nuts can all be used as hebs.Try your choice of nuts toasted, chopped and sprinkled on top of salads, roasted veg, stuffed veg or added to oats for breakfast.I love hummus on jacket spuds and toast. And,of course, marmite on toast is the business.Make free veggie soups with tofu added at the end.If you want a creamy sauce/soup blended tofu is really good.just make the base as usual, add a little tofu (in pieces) and blend. In fact I think there is a recipe somewhere on the thread for asparagus soup, which uses tofu for this purpose.
I have tons of ideas as my sis regularly descends upon me expecting vegan friendly meals! However, without knowing your food preferences I'll hold back til I find out more:T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil, like women....;):D:p

You should be able to get the mag in any shop that sells nags, it'll be £2.45, but if you know anyone that goes to a group, it's only £1.50 from there.
Weetabix would be a HEB as it's a fibre food. Only calcium rich items (milk and cheese) are listed as HEAs. You can have 2 as a HEB, but of course you can only have 2 HEBs in a day, so if you've already had them, then the weetabix would have to be synned.
The milk question is harder for me since I don't shop at Sainsbury's and haven't a clue what orange-top is. However, if it's a half-fat type thing then it's counted as semi-skim I think.
The pie would definitely have to be synned. You could always make your own pie using veg and a HEB of chicken (assuming you're on a green day) and top with mashed potato instead of having pastry (a big no-no).
Once you've got the mag you'll have a better idea of what to do. Your enthusiasm has to be applauded :T
Thank youThis diet sure is hard. Not so much the eating bad food but the being hungry. Yesterday I had a red day and hated it. I couldn't find anything to eat that would fill me up.
I would normally like 2 slices of break for lunch and then potatoes for tea but this isn't possible with using up my sins by lunch time lol.
I am really fussy as I don't like pasta, rice or anything like that. So I really only eat potato based things and bread. Today I brought some tesco finest wholegrain bread - brown. It has lots of seeds on top. How many slices of this can I have?
As regards the pie how many sins?. I did your idea of chicken with veg and mashed potato tonight on my green day.0 -

Hello everyone! I have been following SW on a different forum but am essentially skint, so think its best if I join here too! Is this the right place to post slimming-worls style baragains? Here goes anyway - Sainsburys basics pasta & sauce, dried, tomato and onion, 2 syns for the packet @ 23p, and Sainsburys are doing mullerlights @ 54p on BOGOF at the moment!0

mullerlights are free (not the layered ones) on both days0

RebekahR - Have you read through the booklet explaining about free food yet?Do you like eggs?If you don't like pasta/rice,how about noodles or couscous? When did you last eat pasta or rice?Maybe you just need to find new ways to use them. While I wouldn't try and force anyone to eat what they don't enjoy, the whole point of SW is to take you out of your comfort zone/bad habits. The idea is to shock yourself (and your mind, body and spirit!) into better habits by realising you can eat LOADS of different foods and still LOSE weight:T .But you will only do this by reading the book first!!!;)
If you like potatoes then eat lots of potatoes. If you like meat then eat lots of meat.JUST NOT LOTS OF BOTH ON THE SAME DAY!:rotfl: And don't forget to fill up on fruit and veg.And mullerlights. And salad. And water. And anything else you like that's free on that day!!!And the best tip I have is to only use your syns on 'treats'.Otherwise,if I use a lot of them for meals I find I feel a bit resentful.
If you have time over the weekend go through your cupboards and divide things into free and synned, and red and green if you have the space. If you have room, keep a shelf in the fridge, one in the freezer and a cupboard full of superfree foods (i.e. free on red AND green) so when you get confused by the plan,or just hungry, you can always grab something safe in the knowledge you're sticking to the plan.
Also keep a bowl of fruit near you at all times. If I don't see it I don't eat it,simple as that! But when I eat lots of fruit I find I don't retain water and my stomach feels a lot less bloated.Have one at work (if you're allowed!),one in the kitchen, lounge, dining room, even your bedroom, wherever you spend a lot of time basically.Ditto bottles of tap water or diluted squash.Again,if it's there you'll consume it,which can only be good.
Most importantly of all I would say,as my Dad somewhat famously does in my family,IF YOU'RE HUNGRY - EAT;) !Sounds simple:rolleyes: ,and it is.It doesn't matter if you get things wrong occasionally (we all do) ,just as long as you keep trying....:A:T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil, like women....;):D:p

Hi Kellybigboobs, what a name! Thanks so much for taking the effort to reply to me. I am afraid I don't eat Tofu either. I am not allergic to anything I just have never eaten meat, fish or eggs since I was about 4. Then with the added issue of not liking mushrooms it is a pain and also not being able to eat anything that is the same texture also creates problems. It is just a little bit hard as I see so many recipes but they all need eggs which is a bit of a nuisance. It is not like I struggle to find things to eat....... I have so much which is why I need to do slimming world! Have a lovely Saturday - I am looking forward to my exercise bike being delivered today then I can start my new exercise programme!:j0

Thank you for the fab ideas in this post. I had never thought about dividing my freezer/fridge space as you mention. Such a fab idea. Thanks very much.0
