notenoughcash wrote: »Hello everyone, I joined SW 4 weeks ago and lost 3lbs in the first two weeks, but what with a child with a tummy bug and then work I haven't been for the last two weeks. I haven't stuck to it 100% but have stuck with some small changes like using fry light and only having SW chips but I've had too much alcohol and chocolate and bread and think I have possibly but my 3lbs back on and some more. I'm feeling really rubbish about it today but it is shopping day today and I'm going to buy everything sensibly and try and get back on it ready for going back to class next week.
If anyone has any tips my biggest downfall is something sweet after our evening meal, instead of having something sensible I try and hold off to save having the syns and then end up eating loads of chocolate or cake!!
Hello "Not Enough Cash". I have been doing SW for almost a year and have got bored over the last three months and have therefore gone up and down a lot recently.
One thing I can say is that if I say right, Im going to be good this week then its highly likely I will fail whereas if I say I will be good today and think about only that day then I stand a better change of having a better week and sticking to the plan. As its easy to stick to being good for one day and then if you follow this process for the whole week, all of a sudden, you have had a fab week with the respective weight loss.
As for sweet things, when I first started SW, I would have as many free foods as possible saving my syns for the evening when I would have treat size cadburys buttons (4 syns) a glass of wine 6 syns and 5 syns for sauces. The treatsize buttons you can really savour.
Another thing you could do is make a banoffe desert using sliced banana, muller light toffee yogurt, flake sprinkled on top, perhaps a ginger biscuit crumbed up at the bottom with possibly some quark on top (cant say what the quark would be like as not tried it!). obviously some of the things here, you would have to syn but it wouldnt be too many. and you could do it in an individual glass or dish.
Fresh fruit (or the frozen mixed fruit you can buy) topped with mullerlight yogurt or the Shape Lasting Satisfaction Yogurts (these are free) or the Greek 0% total yogurt mixed with a bit of caderal and fresh strawberries. or other fruit.
Some of the count on us Marks and Spencers mouse I think are 4 syns - not many!
Umm run out of ideas now but if I think of anything else, will let you know.0 -
Hi Folks,
I have been considering buying a slimming supplement.NOT the illegal pills that some clinics dole out for a fee:eek: ,just a natural supplement containing supposedly (:D) clinically proven natural ingredients.I'm not even interested in the hoodia/apetite supressing ones as I don't really have a large apetite or snack much but I don't really exercise much apart from walking (I'm afraid I just don't like it!:o ) so I'm thinking of getting one of the fat burning ones that claim to boost your energy and metabolism!
Has anyone tried any supplements and had good results?I mean like Zotrim,Adios,T3,Fitness blends, etc?I'm looking at stuff on ebay at the mo and would welcome any advice/personal experience.
I don't no if this is considered anti SW prctise but if they are safe and work, where's the harm?!:T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil, like women....;):D:p

Forgive me for I have over sinned ...
Is the magazine easy to get in whsmiths? Will grab one tomorrow.
What is weetabix classed as HEA? Or is it syned?
Chicken and vegetable pie the small birds eye ones what are they classed as?
Lol, not to worry, you'll get the hang of it.
You should be able to get the mag in any shop that sells nags, it'll be £2.45, but if you know anyone that goes to a group, it's only £1.50 from there.
Weetabix would be a HEB as it's a fibre food. Only calcium rich items (milk and cheese) are listed as HEAs. You can have 2 as a HEB, but of course you can only have 2 HEBs in a day, so if you've already had them, then the weetabix would have to be synned.
The milk question is harder for me since I don't shop at Sainsbury's and haven't a clue what orange-top is. However, if it's a half-fat type thing then it's counted as semi-skim I think.
The pie would definitely have to be synned. You could always make your own pie using veg and a HEB of chicken (assuming you're on a green day) and top with mashed potato instead of having pastry (a big no-no).
Once you've got the mag you'll have a better idea of what to do. Your enthusiasm has to be applauded :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
RebekahR - According to the new SW magazine, sainsbury's orange top milk is 1%fat and you can have 300ml as an hea:T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T

You dont say whether you are following the SW plan and want to take these pills as a boost? I have to say that I would never consider taking diet pills of any description. I have been following SW for many months and whilst the weight loss has been slow, I am determined it will stay off. I think you may find that whilst taking these pills will result in a short time fix, long term, the weight will just go back on and how can you be sure what you are buying on ebay is safe? Sorry if this is not what you want to hear but Im just expressing my opinion!0 -

Oh dearsorry about that.
In my defence, I've just acquired a pup who will insist on sitting in the small of my back, then stretching herself out till I'm perched on the very end of the chair and she's lying down in total comfort :rotfl: it doesn't make for very accurate typing!
Kelly, I'd echo Flat Eric - supplements shouldn't be necessary. If they really worked, they'd be on prescription and none of us would be over-weight!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hello consultant31. I am making burgers tomorrow so strictly thats a red day meal. my OH is having fish and chips for tea tonight and on checking online, 100g of McCain Home Fries are 6.5 syns. So I weighed out 100g of chips and it amounted to about 6 chips so Im sticking with my HEB Jacket potato and the chicken which Ive been marinating in lemon juice, lemon zest and spices.
Anyway back to the point of my question. If I have a red day tomorrow, I can only have at most 400g odd of potatoes to make jacket chips to go with my burgers so should I have a green day meaning I can have endless jacket chips and have the burgers as my HEB option? I have never known how to syn potato if it is possible?0 -
Thanks flat eric.
I am following the plan, and as you say would like a 'boost'.I don't think buying them from ebay is a problem.I mean if you buy vitimin c from boots,do you really know it's the strength it claims to be?!There's recently been a lot of hoo ha about spf creams NOT actually containing the amount of protection they claimed, when independently tested, and some of them were very expensive brands too!
I am not worried about the safety of the pills i'm looking at,merely the efficacy.Put simply,I don't want to get ripped off!As I mentioned before, the brands I'm looking at are legal, natural and available by different names in health food shops and chemists. They contain minerals that you can buy seperately from these shops. However they blend them together in one tablet so that you don't have to take 8 pills, just 1.
I understand your concerns that I may be looking at anphetamine based 'diet pills' like the ones popular in the 70's but I'm talkiing about a legal HERBAL supplement.Such as green tea,L-carnatine,chromium.
I don't mind losing my weight slowly but I wouldn't want to miss a way to speed things up either! After all, isn't that what speed and superspeed foods are all about?!And I'm sorry but I really don't like green tea very much!!!!
Anybody else got any advice/experience?:T:jHalf a stone off,only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil,like women....;):D:p
