Has anyone else been told by their SW consultants that once the new SW mag is out, any back issues are to be returned to Head Office within two weeks. Seems a bit strange because it was always nice to be able to pick up the old mag if you missed it or wanted to get a copy for a friend.0

moosetastic wrote: »Thanks ever so much Flossey! I have normally been sticking to green days, the same thing, pasta and sauce, jacket potato and beans, etc. I tend not to go for original days, purely for the practicality for work, I find green days easier really. However, have decided that this week, maybe I need to change that around, experiment a little, so long as I stay within what I can have, it cant be that bad right?
So, to prove it, I have just had -
1 quarter tin of chopped tomatoes warmed in a pan, lightly cooked some mushrooms in fry light, and then some diced turkey chunks. put both of these in the tomatoes, with some dried herbs and some chilli powder, while I cooked 2 2egg omelettes (no milk). Plated up - Omelette base, tomato turkey mix in between and omelette on top!! It was absolutely divine and I will be doing that again!!! FREE on original!!!
I have to admit to not drinking enough though, trying to soften the blow with Robinsons Fruit and Barley, but when you are full up from your food there's not a lot of room for liquid in there. I have been trying to up this though.FLOSSEY :j:j

Hello there
I've just joined my local slimming world and went for my first weight in on Monday 14th. I've never had to diet before as I do excercise quite a lot (Heavy cardio, team sport and Gym sessions 4 times a week) however I've recently put on about a stone and a 1/2 and can't shift it so easily anymore!!
Anyhoo, I've been weighed and measured and suitably chastised and gone off and bought all my stuff and onto my 2nd day and it all seems fine and tickety boo. All I seem to have done for 48 hours is go on the Group Members website and on here for ideas etc and it's been great.
However a couple of things I'm strugglling with. I've tried searching this thread but can't really find any easy answers.
Basically - I take lunch to work and only have access to a fridge, microwave and kettle. And I'm struggling for ideas. Ive had beans and jacket pot yesterday and had a tin of butterbeans & fruit today, both days had a muller light and loads of fruit but now I'm stuck. Salad doesn't really fill me, especially if I was trying to use that 70g HE thing for any meat or fish on a Green day. I think I'd be better on more Red days but I can't for the life of me think what I would bring for lunches? I can't imagine having Tuna on a potato without Mayo (Bit dry??). I'm sure I've read somewhere as well that Super Noodles are free on Green or is that wrong?
Also, are there some sausages that are syn free on a red day? Maybe I could bring Chilli or Bolognaise with me but what would you have it with?
Lastly, do you know if I had a small (200g???) Poatatoe on a red day for lunch, can I still have some of those syn free chips?? Haven't made these yet and there seems to be some difference of opinion on here as to what the best cooking time is!! Anyone know for sure??!
Thanks for any help you can be. I have been lurking around on the Money saving old style thread for a year or so but very rarely post!!
Thanks guys

I just had a bowl of cocopops for breakfast with semi-skimmed milk. Is Semi skimmed free or syned? And what does cocopops count as? Are they green or red or extras or syn lol. Gonna talk a lot of learning this! This book is big to read through. Need to decide if today is gonna be red or green based on my breakfast.0

Hello. I work in an office and am not able to go home at lunchtime. I have been doing SW for almost a year and planning my lunch often leaves me scratching my head in frustration but here are a few ideas I can offer that I have tried.
GREEN
Tin of heinz mean beanz italian (free) with 28g of cheese and freshly cut corriander mixed in.
Small tin of Heinz curry beans (these have a syn value) with HEB Bread option toasted. 28 g of cheese on top
Jacket potatoe with stagg chili on top (either the vegetable one or the silverdale beef one) both chili options have syn values.28g cheese on top
or stagg chili with HEB bread option and 28 cheese
Ainsley Harriet Cous cous
Pepper, cucumber, carrot cut up into sticks served with low fat thousand island dressing (need to syn the dressing).
RED
HEB Bread option spread with Extra light Laughing cow triangle (syn value or x amount = HE option (cant remember if A orand filled with ham or bacon medalions, spring onions and sweet chili sauce
Smiley face flan - see page 71 of Slimming World July 2008 mag. This flan is made by frying bacon, pepper and spring onions. I added other veg items (See above post) You mix up 250g quark and four eggs, add the bacon etc and pour into a flan dish. cook for 20 mins then add a few more veg bits to make a smilely face and put back in oven for a further 20 mins. very nice and even tastier when cold. You could mix and match so if you wanted to eat it on a green day, you wouldnt add the bacon for example.
sometimes I cheat and get a salad from my local sandwich shop which I have with one of the slimming world tuna pouches (HEB option) or 1 syn I think on Red, more on green. If I am really hungry, I could have a jacket with it as well. Or I get a jacket potato and cook some beans up
snacks, I have mullerlight, fruit, cadburys buttons treatsize (4 syns), carrots/peppers/cucumber cut up and eaten with a dip0 -

Yes, we had new ones in class this week. :beer:When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Thanks very much Flat Eric!
You see, that's what I'm missing - you knew that Heinz Mean Beanz italian were no syns. I've just looked them up on the Slimmign world online, however the Mean Benz something else (Sweet chilli??) has syn value?!
Also, isn't Stag chilli quite high in syns?0 -

Coco-pops will have to be synned at 5½ syns per 28gms - not enough fibre to be counted as a HEB.
I do think it will be hard for you learning from the book only. The basic are as follows:-
1 - Each day have lots (and I do mean lots) of free food - no weighing or measuring necessary.
2 - You should have 1 or 2 HEAs (healthy extra 'A' choices) and 2 HEBs (healthy extra 'B' choices) each day in order to get all the nutrition you need (ie: calcium and fibre). Weigh/measure HEs carefully.
3 - Have between 5 and 15 syns a day (count the red figures if you're having a red day and the green if you having a green day). Try not to go over 15 and equally, try not to have less than 5. Weigh syns carefully if necessary.
4 - Try to have at least 2½ litres of water a day (you can have sugar-free squash if you like).
This is not a diet, it's a healthy eating plan which you are meant to live with for ever. There are no prizes for a speedy result - the prize is life-long, effortless weight control after losing 1lb to 2lb a week.
Hope this helps.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

This is not quite right.........unsold issues have to be returned (or paid for by the Consultant) 10 weeks after they are issued (or 2 weeks after the next issue is delivered).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
