I dont think you would gain weight by eating the rice crispies. They are just not considered a healthy b as they are not wholegrain. Not totally sure of this but if you look at the list it is all bran, wholegrain, wholewheat etc so thats why its healthy.

    Thanks for that.

The problem is that the groups in my area are on midmorning (but i work) or evening and not awfully close (i don't drive) so that is where i am a bit stuck.

Thanks for the listing, and i will keep and eye out.

As Angie says, the cheapest way would be join a group and get the books shown in the listing quoted. However, I do hope you don't bid on listings which go to this sort of ridiculous price - they are complete rip-offs. It would cost you just £9.50 to get this at a group.

Perhaps you know someone who goes to a class, if so, ask them to get you a pack. I'm sure the Consultant at the group would sell one to a friend for you at the normal joining price.

  • i have to say re: the ebay listings of SW products i couldn't believe how much they cost, even the starting price was at least equal,if not more than the class price:mad: !much better looking in freeads/freecycle/amazon i think.i love ebay but i think sometimes people just get carried away with the need to win:rolleyes: .for example,i'm currently bidding on a very pretty dress that started at 4.99,it's now up to 9.28 with 3.50 p&p and 3 hours left to go.now 12.78 might seem quite reasonable until you take into account that it's made of jersey (a very inexpensive fabric) and comes from GEORGE (as in asda, known for their cheap clothes) and the auction hasn't even ended yet:eek: !i bet you could pop into asda and buy 1 similar right now for the same or less and actually get to try it on before you but it?!anyway i've decided that a lovely gold basque with multi way straps and matching pants (that actually comes in my ridiculous size) is much more of a bargain at 22.50 including p&p on buy it now and probably will get worn more, with or without a dress over the top IYNWIM???........:D

Has anyone noticed better losses on original/green days/weeks? I seem to be doing mostly reds, just out of ease and convenience. Bu I heard a rumour on another SW discussion somewhere that doing more red does make people lose quicker. I am quite happy flitting between red and green but I just wondered if anyone had any stories to tell?

    H

i do mostly green as it's easier for me in work to have jacket potato for lunch but also i don't feel full without carbs, i seem to be doing ok on this (apart form the past few weeks but thats another story :D)

the past 10 days I've been on plan one day and off it the next.

I don't know why this is happening.

Maybe I'm confused bc I don't see much difference in myself from having lost 1st. It's almost like the 11lbs after the 1st have made no difference to my appereance. To be honest, I don't see much difference in the other members of my SW group either!

    Or maybe I think that I look OK - but i know i don't.

I'm just craving biscuits and chocolate. I'll be OK one day and stay within my syns but then I binge the next day.

I think the issue is that I feel deprived - even with 15 syns a day.

I just don't know what i'm doing anymore...

    Any help very much appreciated.

I think you have to sit down and evaluate the reasons why you wanted/needed to lose weight in the first place, and put yourself back into that mindset.

You have done really well to lose almost 2 stone already and despite what you may think, you must look very different to what you did before you started. I'm assuming, from personal experience, this must mean you have gone down at least a couple of dress sizes, and you should be feeling much healthier, hopefully with much more energy than before.

There are always choices to be made in dieting as in life itself. You choose what to eat at each meal and you choose how to 'spend' your syns.
Making a daily menu plan over the weekend for the following week is a good idea so that it takes some of the effort out of thinking what you're going to have each day when you're tired and fed-up.

If you're feeling deprived even though you're having the full 15 syns, try to make lower-syn choices so you can have more treats. For instance, chocolate is quite high syn and therefore you can only get one or two treats within the 15 syns. But if you choose, say a Curly Wurly, chop it into bite size pieces and keep it in the freezer before hand, it takes ages to eat and you feel as if you've had loads.

Look for low-syn puds, such as a large tub of 0% Greek Yoghurt mixed with a couple of teaspoons of lemon curd and crumble a meringue nest in - it's yummy (like lemon meringue pie) and will 'cost' about 5 syns.

At the end of the day, you need to be able to make a commitment to losing weight and if you can't do that at the moment it's not a sign of failure on your part - your time will come and then you'll be able to get to your target with the least amount of angst!

    Hi everyone!
I had my WI last night and I've managed to lose another 2lbs :T and I got slimmer of the week too. So that makes a 1stone and 11lb loss in 9 weeks. I'm still feeling really positive about it all and, at the moment, am gobsmacked at how easily the weight seems to be coming off. I almost feel guilty for finding it so easy when so many are struggling. I'm not sure I'd be as determined as you guys if I was going for weeks without losing anything significant and I think you all deserve a huge amount of praise for sticking with it. I'm bracing myself for the inevitable moment when I'll get 'stuck' and just hope I can stay half as motivated as you all do. Thanks to all who contribute to this thread the help and advice on here is great. Well done to everyone, losers, STS and especially those struggling on, you're all amazing.

Thanks pariskate, it makes me wonder why it took me so long to start! I guess I had to wait until I was 'ready'.
